Chapter 8

Alei

Laying in bed, I contemplated on calling Aug back. I knew I shouldn't have flipped on him like that but I just couldn't control myself.

"Mommy's sorry babe." I rubbed my belly as the baby kicked.

He was so in tuned with my emotions that from the moment I was upset, he would react.

Taking a deep breath, I exhaled as my phone rang. Seeing it was Druex, I answered and put it on speaker.

"Yes?"

"Hi to you too."

"I'm not in the mood Druex so just say why you are calling."

"Well I seen you staring on that blog with Trey."

"Ok and?"

"Damn! I can't even have fun with you now. Anyway, I wanted to know if it was cool to have Mirah this weekend?"

"Sure. You can come get her. I know she would love to see you."

"Thanks. You ok though?"

"Yea just tired."

"Oh ok well I'll leave you to rest."

"Thanks. I'll call you later or something."

"No problem."

Once my screen came back, I opened my Instagram and saw the post. Shaking my head, I figured that's probably what prompted Aug's call.

Sighing, I took my time and got up. Going to my bathroom, I took a quick shower and got back into bed.

"Mommy."

"Mmm?" I looked at Amirah.

"Nap please."

"Climb up." I patted the bed.

Before doing so, she ran into my bathroom and came back.

"Dry them before you come here."

"I did." She smiled as she climbed up.

"Where's your granny?"

"Watching TV."

"Ok."

As she laid close to me, I gently ran my fingers through her thick hair as she caressed my belly.

"Baby come soon?" She looked up at me.

"Yup." I smiled.

"Mommy, Mommy!" I heard Amirah exclaim. "Come see what I made."

Making my way out to the front porch, I smiled as I looked at what she had drew while she continued drawing.

"That's a pretty butterfly babe." I smiled.

"Thank you mommy. Is lunch ready?"

"Mhmm. Go wash up."

Packing away her chalk, she ran off into the house. Laughing as her silly behavior, I was about to close the door when someone called me.

"Alei!"

"Ye-" I paused when o had seen who it was.

"I know, you're shocked but don't be." He smiled.

"What are you doing here? How are you even here?"

"I know ya worried bout him and everything but don't be."
