Alei

"Amirah!"

"Yes mommy!"

"Can you bring me my flip flops please."

"OK!" She yelled back.

"Why are the both of you yelling." My mother yelled behind me.

"Sorry!" I shouted then laughed.

Standing in front my full length mirror, rubbing my very pregnant belly, just smiling.

"One more month." I whispered.

"Here mommy."

Looking at my side, Amirah stood there, rubbing my belly.

"Thank you princess. You ready to meet you baby brother."

"Yup." She smiled. "Is uncle August coming today?" She looked up at me.

"Remember he's on tour babe."

"Oh right." She ran off.

Laughing at how querky she was being, I shook my head and slipped on my flip flops.

So much has happened in the past six months. For one, August and I aren't together anymore.

During my second trimester, he admitted to cheating on me and I just couldn't deal with it so I ended things.

"Alei are you ready?"

"Just a minute!"

Nah, I'm just joking. August and I are still together, he did slip up once and as hurt as I was, I forgave him and we've been working on our relationship.

"I'm ready."

Walking into the living room, my mother sat talking to Jaz. Amirah was officially living with me, and with my mom being retired, she would be here to assist me with the baby and Amirah.

"Hey Jaz."

"Hey babe. You look cute." She hugged me.

"I feel heavy." I sighed.

"You ready?"

"Yup." I nodded.

"Mommy can I come with you?"

"I don't see why not." I shrugged. "Mommy can you get her ready quick for me please?"

"Sure love. Come on little one."

Amirah has opened up so much since being out here with me. Her personality was always big but now its like a different her.

"She's really busy huh?" Jaz laughed.

"Yea. I hope she settles a bit time this one gets here."

"She will. Don't you worry."

Once they came back out, we left. Jaz was off today so she offered to accompany me to my visit.

"So y'all still don't know what y'all are having?"

"Nope. The baby's position is blocking us from finding out, but I think its a boy."

"Why you think that?" She laughed.

'I'm heavier than I was when I was carrying Amirah."

"OK but that don't mean anything."

"In the Caribbean it does." I laughed.

"Y'all and they myths."

"Hey they be the truth." I pointed at her.
