"Are you even sure about this?" Aiden sighed, shutting a briefcase close. Elsa smiled at him submissively before running up to him to adjust the crooked cravat around his neck, blue eyes locking onto green ones assuringly.

"Oh, come on now, love, don't tell me you're afraid of your own home town?" She chuckled teasingly as she worked her fingers through the tie.

"W-well, certainly not afraid, but perhaps a bit reluctant."

"Why? We've went there a couple of times. Well it's been quite long since, but don't you miss the castle?" She questioned, now finishing up.

"... I don't really know, Els. I don't know. I don't know if I miss anything... Or anyone.. For that matter." Aiden responded with an uncomfortable tone. Realizing what he meant, she apologetically pressed a lingering kiss on his cheek with a weak smile. The fire king held her closer to endure the moment, eyes shutting tightly to refrain from tearing up.
