(Curator's Office) Third Persons POV
"She must die" Dr Bey tells the three medjai in his office. One of the Mumia has a rusty metal hook for a hand. Another is the chieftain of the medjai, Ardeth Bay and the last is his right hand man Abdul.
"She is like all the others. She will die in the desert" Hook says shrugging.
"No! She has seen too much. She knows too much" Dr Bey tells them. The Curator leans across his desk, fear in his eyes. "Not only does she have a map, but she has the key" he explains. Which spooks the hell out of the other men.
"The key!?" Abdul exclaims.
"She has the lost key!?" Hook demands.
"Yes. No one has ever had so much, been so close. We must stop her, or it will be the end of us all" Dr bey tells them.
"Then we will kill her, we will kill her and all those with her" Hook states,
"There is one you cannot kill, she is the reincarnation of the High Priestess Nubia. Kill the others and destroy the map. But retrieve her with the key" Dr Bey tells them.
"It will be done" Ardeth assures him.
"But what of the American expedition? They leave tomorrow as well" Abdul reminds the group.
"Forget the bumbling Americans, they will be like all the others. Without the map to guide them, how can they possibly find Hamunaptra?" Curator asks. Not knowing that the Americans have a guide, that had been there before. Ardeth goes to prepare his horse.
(Giza Port)
"It is three days down the Nile, then two days by camel, sahibs" Beni explains to the Americans.
"For all the money we're paying you, something better god-damned well be under that sand" Daniels tells him. Henderson slaps Daniels on the back.
"'Hamunaptra' Daniels, that's all ya gotta keep sayin, to yourself, 'Hamunaptra'" Henderson tells him. Oakley hears this as she walks past them heading for the stables. She had brought her and her cousins tickets for the boat, along with one for O'Connell. She had purchased a stall for her horse, saying she'd bring her in the morning.
(Stables) Oakley's POV
I reach the stables and so to Uma's stall. She nickers happily at the sight of me and I hand her an apple. "We're going on an adventure girl" I tell her smiling. I then notice a pure black stallion in the pen next to her looking restless. "Aren't you handsome" I praise as I go to the door. He paws the ground nervously.
"Bet you aren't used to stable, huh?" I ask him gently. I take out the apple I was going to eat and offer it out to him. "Here" I say and he sniffs it before eating it happily. "Good boy, don't worry. I'm sure you'll be free to run again soon" I assure him as I stroke his mane.
"Cassim, does not usually like strangers" a man says from behind me. I turn to see a man in black robes. With a tattoo on each check.
"You just need to show him you respect him and that he can trust you. An apple also helps" I tell him smiling. "You have a fine stallion, must of been hard to tame him" I add.
"Yes, but worth it" he tells me smiling. "I am Ardeth Bay" he says.
"Oakley Sheba, that is my mare Uma" I say as Uma nibbles on his scarf. He chuckles and pats her nose fondly. "She likes you, she does not usually like men" I tell him.
"I have a way with horses" he tells me.
"I don't doubt it, you did tame a stallion" I tell him laughing gently. "Anyway, I should finish getting her ready" I state and enter her stall.
"Are you going somewhere?" he asks me.
"Going on an adventure, we leave tomorrow on a boat down the Nile" I tell him. "Though I may take her for a ride, as we'll be on the boat for three days" I state.
"Where are you traveling too?" he asks me curious as he tucks up his own horse.
"Don't know if I should tell you" I tell him as I put Uma's bridle on her.
"I can keep a secret" he tells me.
"Ok, if you catch me. I'll tell you" I tell him and mount Uma. I open the door and kick her side gently. She takes off out of the stables and I soon hear Ardeth following on Cassim. I laugh as we leave the city and he soon appears in front of us. Uma stops rearing back slightly.
"Now will you tell me?" he asks me smiling.
"Ok, but don't tell anyone" I tell him. "My cousins are going to look for Hamunaptra, my cousin found a map. We leave tomorrow" I tell him excitedly.
"You know the place is cursed" he tells me and I roll my eyes.
"My little cousin and I don't believe in curses. My older cousin thinks there's treasure" I tell him as I play with my necklace.
"What's that?" he asks me curiously.
"Oh this old thing?" I ask showing him the necklace. "It's been based down through my mother's family for generations. It's bares the symbol of Hathor and supposedly will protect the wearer. It's the last thing I have of my mother" I tell him.
I look up to see the sun setting. "I have to get back, we leave at first light" I tell him. "I hope we meet again, may Allah protect you" I state and leave.
Third Persons POV
Ardeth watches Oakley gallop back to the city on Uma. Abdul appears beside him. "That was Priestess Nubia's reincarnation, we must retrieve her with the key. Inform the men of her description and ensure they do not harm her" Ardeth tells him. Abdul nods his head and they return to their camp.
