17 young and brave
parking on the wrong side
to see the city lights
against the darkened night
She laughs along
with her driving
passenger side
pictures flashing bright
Life ahead of them both
school and travels
captivating the mind
social casualties in sight
But she isn't in the car
her head is the indifference
to realizing she has a choice
in what she wants from him.
