Dahyun looked at the new student from across the class, she had never been so drawn to someone in her entire life. At least now she knew that out of the giant campus, she could see her this once. The next time she saw her she made sure to sit next to her. She gave her a bright smile, the girl returning it.

She noticed that the girl would struggle in the class, writing in a langage Dahyun really didn't understand. She was silent too... Then it clicked. She didn't speak Korean. The girl was constantly translating things on her phone just to get everything correct.

So Dahyun decided maybe English. Maybe the girl knew English.

"Hi." Dahyun smiled at her one morning. The girl gave her a small smile, looking back at her notes. "Um.." she didn't think this through. Her English wasn't great at all. "Name?" She asked her. The girl raised an eyebrow and frowned. "I'm, Dahyun." She pointed at herself. "You?" She asked.

The girl still didn't understand, frowning at her desk neighbor. Dahyun eventually pulled out her phone, opening a translator app. She showed the girl, who immediately lit up. Dahyun tapped the languages for her, and she picked Japanese. Dahyun smiled, typing out the question she had wanted to ask, letting it translate for her.

"Sana." She smiled after reading the question. Dahyun smiled, repeating her own name for the girl. The girl was happy that she had made a 'friend' finally.

When the class actually started, Sana would write her questions on her phone, showing them to Dahyun who would in turn answer them via translator app. Dahyun did her best answering all of her questions, typing them frantically while she took her own notes. She wished she knew Japanese just to help her. That and she was cute.

That night Dahyun downloaded a bunch of books on how to help her speak Japanese. She stayed up late learning basic greetings and phrases, small conversation things just to at least ask Sana how her day was going and maybe not understand her at all after that.

Sana immediately went to her dorm, opening up her Korean textbook and poured herself into studying the language. Not only did she need it to really survive her semesters and in the country she chose for school, she really wanted to talk to Dahyun. Something about her smile had gotten her to want to learn the language more and more.

The next morning the two sat next to each other, Dahyun giving her a warm smile. Sana returned the gesture, taking out everything she needed for the class. Dahyun felt butterflies in her stomach as she tried to remember what she had learned from the night before. She went to open her mouth to speak, but Sana beat her to it.

"My... Korean is... Not good." She spoke in broken words to Dahyun. She could see Sana struggling to put together words. "But... I.. I am learning." She whispered.

"You're good!" Dahyun smiled. She had perfect pronunciation almost. "How long have you been doing lessons?" She asked. Sana blinked a few times at her. She had spoken a little too fast for her to put the words together. Dahyun pulled out her phone, typing out her question and translated it for her.

"Two.... Weeks." Sana answered. "No... Japanese except talk with family." Her Korean was definitely lacking, but she was trying. Dahyun smiled, deciding to get brave and use her Japanese skills. Which of course, she failed miserably, but got a laugh out of Sana. "Good try." She chuckled while placing her hand on Dahyun's.

Everyday the two greeted each other in the other's native tongue. Sana's Korean got better every single day she spent sitting next to Dahyun. Who in turn taught her slang words that people would use on the street if she were to ever go out of her dorm. Sana taught her simple phrases in Japanese, telling her if she wanted to learn the language, that it would be easiest to learn foods she liked. She declined, wanting to dive right into it.

Which led to Dahyun offering Sana private lessons with learning Korean at her dorm.

"For studying reasons..." She blushed.

"Okay." Sana smiled at her.

The two sat next to each other on the floor, Sana writing the neatest she could on the paper. Dahyun was teaching her the stroke order that way she would be able to write properly. She watched when Sana made a mistake, so she wrapped her hand over Sana's and did the characters with her. Training her to write that way. Sana's cheeks were hot, she didn't know how long she had been blushing for, but she was sure Dahyun knew. She glanced up at the blonde haired girl and saw the concern in her eyes. Dahyun was going to ask her if everything was alright, but was cut off by Sana's lips on hers.

When she pulled away, Dahyun was stunned. No one had ever kissed her before and here she was... Sitting in the floor of her own dorm with the most prettiest girl on the planet... And she was speechless..

"I... I hope that was okay.." Sana whispered. Dahyun's cheeks went red, nodding frantically. Sana let out a small giggle, covering her smile before looking back down at her paper. "I think it's only fair to teach you Japanese." Sana smiled. Dahyun chuckled, agreeing to let her teach her more Japanese.

By the end of the semester, the two were practically fluent, Sana whispering things in Japanese to Dahyun in the middle of class just to see her become flustered. She couldn't help but laugh at how cute she was. Dahyun would just hold Sana's hand under the table, enjoying her company.

Before the semester was over, Sana knew she didn't want to let her go, so she asked her out.

"Wait... You want to be my girlfriend?" Dahyun asked her.

"Mhm." Sana smiled.

"This can't be real." She muttered.

"It's real." She chuckled. "And I just... I like you a lot." Sana flashed a smile, hoping she would say yes.

"I like you a lot too..." Dahyun blushed. "So... Yeah... Yes I will go out with you."
