Playdates - Sahyo & Mimo

"I swear sometimes you are the most high maintenance kitten in the world." Sana groaned as she buckled Mina in the car. 

"Treat!" Mina cried. Sana gave her one treat, enough to shut her up for the car ride at least. When they got to the park it was like every little thing Sana wanted her to do, she needed a treat. 

"You can get a treat after we find a place to sit." Sana explained while shaking the bag in front of her. Mina groaned, following her owner through the park. Sana had found Jihyo quickly, watching her throw a stick and Momo run after it. 

"You made it!" Jihyo chuckled. 

"Yeah, Mina needed motivation." Sana chuckled while holding the bag out. 

"You promised." Mina glared. 

"I didn't promise." Sana frowned while opening the bag. She gave her another treat watching her inhale it while watching the puppy grab the stick and run back. Jihyo smiled at Mina, holding out her hand for Mina to sniff it. "She's friendly." Sana whispered to Mina, nudging her closer. 

"She's so cute.. Did you adopt her?" Jihyo asked. 

"Yeah, found her in the shelter. She belonged to an elderly lady up until she died..." Sana frowned. "Yours?" She asked. 

"Shelter." Jihyo sighed as Mina sniffed her hand. "Her previous owners gave her up because of how energetic she is." She explained. Mina smiled, nudging Jihyo's hand for pets when she deemed her worthy. Jihyo let out a little laugh, rubbing behind her ears. "I really wanted to get a kitten, but all they had were puppies.. Once I saw Momo, I knew I was going to need to take her home." Jihyo laughed. 

"She seems cute." Sana smiled while watching the puppy get distracted and start chasing a butterfly. 

"Momo! No! Stick! Get the stick!" Jihyo yelled. Momo looked back at the stick, running towards it and brought it back. Sana laughed, watching her run in circles while staring at the stick. 

"Please throw it..." Momo whined. 

"Why don't you say hi to a new friend first?" Jihyo asked while hiding the stick behind her back. "Momo, this is Mina. Be nice." She whispered while holding her collar. Momo immediately looked at Mina, smiling as she got closer to her. Mina backed away immediately, a small warning growl escaping her with her ears pinned back. Sana watched as her tail slowly began to puff up, an attempt to make herself bigger really. Momo's tail never stopped wagging, still eager to meet a new friend. "Slowly Momo!" Jihyo sighed. 

"Okay.." Momo whispered. She took tiny steps, sniffing Mina's face. Mina pulled away, not wanting to be that close to the puppy. Her little nose twitched, sniffing at the puppy who got excited again, and kissed her cheek. Causing Mina to swat at her. Momo immediately whined, pulling herself away and clinging to Jihyo. 

"Mina!" Sana scolded. "Apologize." She pointed. 

"No." Mina turned her head, not wanting to like the puppy. 

"I'm sorry Momo.. Mina is.. Shy." Sana explained quietly. Momo nodded, looking at the kitten who was now examining her nails. Sana frowned, grabbing Mina by the collar and pulling her gently away from Momo and Jihyo. 

"Ow! Ow!" Mina complained. 

"See these." Sana held up the treat baggie, Mina nodded. "No more. You have to be nice to Momo in order to get another one." She pointed. "Apologize to her for swatting her and mean it. Then maybe you can have a treat." She ordered. Mina nodded slowly, ears pinned back from her owners expressions. "Now." Sana pointed back at their new friends. Mina walked over to them, head hung down and tail swishing from side to side.
