It was during his marriage with Khadijah RAthat Prophet SAW used to visit the Cave of Hira , in the outskirts of Makkah, in order to dedicate himself entirely to prayer and meditation in absolute isolation and solitude. It was Khadijah RA herself who would climb up there to give him his food and other necessities. It was on one of these occasions that Archangel Jibreel( Gabriel_ peace be upon him ) paid his first visit to him, which completely shook & unnerved him.

Aa'ishah, RA the Mother of the Believers narrated the story of the Revelation, as she said :
❝ The angel came to him and said, 'Read!' He said, 'I'm not a reader.'
He [the Prophet said]:
'He embraced me & squeezed me so hard that I almost could bear it no longer, then he released me & said, "Read!" I said, 'I'm not a reader.'Then he embraced me a second time & squeezed me so hard that I almost could bear it no longer, he released me & said, "Read!" I said 'I'm not a reader.'Then he embraced me a third time & squeezed me, then he released me,& said,
