Blake's words echoed in my thoughts. It's been a month since we first found out about our "other" lives. But there was one main part I didn't understand,

All of the answers were just coming to us. Every question we asked-answered immediately. Scarlet never flinched when we asked her about Mom. I could understand some aspects of it with them being sisters and everything. But it's like she isn't affected by how Mom is being held against her will by their mother.

            And, where was she?

Hasn't shown her face since we were born?

Is she that scared of us?

            It didn't add up.

I met up with Zoey during homeroom. She texted me in the middle of anatomy saying it was an emergency. Knowing her, it could be a variety of things. But she didn't pull things like this often at school.

As soon as I saw her, I knew something was up. Her face was filled with complete panic.

            "Zoey, what's wrong?"

She ran up to me, "It's Carly." Dear God, what did she do now?

            "Of course-"

            "She saw my eyes."

"Well, I don't think you can avoid making eye contact-"

"No, Addison. She saw my violet colored glowing freak show eyes." She flickered her color at me.

"What were you doing flaring your eye color around?" I hissed. Scarlet and Blake taught us how to control it. It wasn't hard. So, I couldn't understand what made her do it.
"I don't know! She was trying to make me mad. Trying to annoy me."

"What did she say to you?"

"Shit like: Go ahead show us how strong you are. Your sister has superpowers, so you obviously do too."

I laughed, there was no other way to react. This had to be a joke. If this was how desperate she was to get a rise out of us, I was in for a real treat.

"Why are you laughing?" Zoey asked seriously offended.

"ZO, do you realize how crazy that makes her sound? So, what if she saw a flicker of purple in your eyes, that shows signs of visual hallucinations. People will think she's crazy if she goes around telling everyone we have super-strength and do things normal people can't."

Don't be so quick to assume things Addison. You haven't been the best at keeping your identity secret.

            Stay out of this.

            Scarlet didn't say anything else.

"But how can we be so sure? We can do things normal people can't. That's where Carly is right." This is what happened when Zoey would overthink things. She couldn't rationalize the situation. But does anything like this have a rational answer? We haven't exactly been leading what a person would call a normal life.

"Don't worry about this. Just ignore her." I did my best to calm her down, but I began to feel a queasy feeling in my stomach.

            The locker.
