something depressing is that
i am not happy with where i'm at
in life, or in general
i wish i wasn't stuck in the body of a girl
and something depressing is that
i'm always anxious, too scared
to walk home alone without a phone
because of what i think will happen
and something depressing is, well
depression, and the fact that
a lot of kids are rarely happy,
no matter how much they try
how hard they work to be themselves
and something depressing is the violence
all around us, a school was shot up,
a kid took his own life, we're learning far too young
what it means to die
and something depressing is all the kids
with ptsd, scared of their shadows
and the people that hurt them
just getting away with it
and something depressing is that for a lot of people
wanting to die is just a daily part of life
no matter why people should not be used to
wanting to die
and something depressing is all the people
who brush it off with "it's all in your head"
like that makes mental illnesses any less valid
because asthma is not "all in your lungs"
and something depressing is the fact that
we're destroying our planet
without a second thought
and it's said that it's the population
when in reality it's the big corporations
and something depressing is a lot of things
and i don't know if i can make it much longer
i may be strong, but a lot of things are stronger
