Anyway, that's just what I want to say to you. I feel like I want to hide in a ditch after saying this. Overall, I got nothing left to say and I am dreading over the fact on what you're going to think about this and execute judgment upon my-

MARLIE

Xavier and I are not dating.

TODD

You... You and Xavier are not dating?!

MARLIE

Yes.

TODD

Wait, that's not possible. I don't understand.

MARLIE

What is it that you don't understand?

TODD

(hand gestures)

What about the holding hands?! What about the pictures of you and him taking selfies with both of your faces together I saw on Instagram?! What about-

MARLIE

TODD

MARLIE surveys across the hallway to make sure the coast is clear.

TODD

MARLIE

TODD is shown bewildered at MARLIE's response.

TODD

I'm sorry, what?

MARLIE

TODD

(almost shouting)

X- Xavier is... Gay?!

MARLIE

Shhh! Not so loud.

TODD

Sorry. I'm just, shocked. I didn't know he was-

MARLIE

TODD

TODD and MARLIE both look away, uncomfortable from the unexpected topic discussed. Feeling encouraged, Todd attempts to talk to her again.

TODD

MARLIE

TODD, feeling quite flabbergasted by MARLIE's response couldn't help but grin. MARLIE grins back in return.

TODD

(overwhelmed with excitement)

MARLIE

TODD

MARLIE

What you did was pretty brave. I mean, minus the anxiety you had, it would've been better.

MARLIE looks up the time on her phone. Realizing what she has to do, MARLIE walks away. TODD follows.

MARLIE

I'm late for rehearsal.

TODD

Rehearsal? Where do you need to go?

MARLIE

Verona Theatre. It's like sixteen minutes from here.

TODD

MARLIE stops walking and turns to face TODD, smiling.

MARLIE

TODD

Absolutely.

The Camera shows TODD and MARLIE in the distance, walking side by side, happy and shuffling their feet as they leave the hallway.

TODD

Question. Do you like Quinoa?

MARLIE

(confused)
