doesn't really have a hidden meaning behind it, it's literally just about loving less lol. and i wish i could say there was a certain story that brought on the idea for this song but there isn't. it kinda just stems from little parts of my life. times where i kinda "loved too much" by either letting someone into my life too easily or showing them a deeper part of myself too quickly. something that i have now realized is not the best thing to do all the time. thus "love less" was born lol..... ahhh i really just gave you a long ass explanation for no reason lmaoo

     — ivylin: so much about that song makes me somehow feel happy and sad at the same time haha. but my fav line would have to be "holding my breath as i watch you leave, wishing you would come back" ... that lyric sounds so blatantly like it would be about a boy but i see it as being more than just that. it could be about both a friend, a family member, or sooo much more. i love that lyric so much because of how versatile it can be,,, and how it could be something that everyone relates to and that was one of my main goals with the ep

     — ivylin: it's mainly about having a first love / falling in love with someone you're dating and all of the ooey gooey happy feelings that come along with it... except for the last line which is actually one of my favorites lol "the feelings felt like forever, but we all know the first one can never last" kinda dark but i also feel like it's so honest

username16: it's so clear that this ep is like a story. was that you're intention when you began writing it??
     — ivylin: i'm so happy that you saw it that way!! i have always really wanted to make a story through my music but i didn't always know what that story would be. then some shit happened in my life and i got hit with a ton of inspiration lol. so i came up with the story of first loving someone/something, to having to say goodbye to them or that, to feeling sad or "delicate" about it, to finally getting better and realizing that you shouldn't feel too upset about what happened because everything happens for a reason and instead you're a much stronger person because of what you went through ...... i really hoped that makes sense and slightly explains my thought process when writing each song!!
