"Julie!!"
"Stop shouting, Maq!"
A quarrel and an aggressive nudge on my shoulder woke me up. I stirred and rubbed my eyes before opening it completely.
The two fine young ladies namely Yassi and Maqui welcomed me.
"Why are you fighting inside my room? Get out!"
I said in my sleepy voice annoyingly and turned around hugging my favorite human-sized bear.
"This is your fault."
"How is this even my fault?"
"Aish! I just know it's your fault."
"What? You're the one shouting here, Maq."
Wow! They are still bickering. We've been together for 9 years and they still can't respect my morning space.
"Shut up both of you and leave my room quietly!"
I kicked the duvet covering my body and sat up carelessly shooing these two away. I clicked my tongue and fell on the bed to hug my favorite bear again.
"Why is she so grumpy in the morning?"
I heard Maqui whispered which was answered in the same tone by Yassi,
"She's probably disappointed to see your face right after she opened her eyes."
"Yah!"
Maqui exclaimed in a high pitched tone earning a chuckle from Yassi. Ugh! These two really like to get on my nerves.
"Are you going to find your way out or I'll kick you both out?!"
I said through gritted teeth without looking back at them.
"Let's go, Maq! Grumpy Julie is not what I came for. It's aunt's Ivic sandwich."
Yassi said giddily while snaking her arms around Maqui's shoulder.
"Don't show your true colors, Yas! We went here for this grumpy grandma's birthday."
Maqui said while pointing at me. Huh! Did she just call me grandma?
"The audacity of you to call me grandma when you're way way older than me."
I rebutted while rolling my eyes. Maqui was about to respond but Yassi spoke,
"Kids that stuck in adult bodies, stop fighting! I'm already hungry!"
"As usual!"
Maqui and I said in unison. We looked at each other and let out a chuckle. Best friends think alike.
"Now stand up there, Julie Anne and wash up because we're going out. We'll wait for you in the living room while this hungry monster right here will eat out everything in your kitchen. Ciao!"
She ordered not letting me speak. She just went out dragging Yassi. Her hand gripping her wrist. Is that even necessary?
Yassi scrunched her nose at me and just followed Maqui. When the door closes, I checked my phone which I regret eventually because it's buzzing out nonstop. I turned off the wifi to return my peace of mind and checked the messages and any missed calls from him but there's none.
Did he forget my birthday? No, he can't. He won't. The day is just starting. He'll come by. Maybe he's still sleeping now. Right.

After I washed up, I wore a backless and above the knee fitted dress pairing it up with Adidas Continental 80 shoes. I just let my hair down curling it a bit and put a light makeup.
