"I'm....what?" You asked in shock. Your emotions had never changed so quickly in your entire life. You didn't know how to feel honestly. This was a big deal that would affect you the rest of your life and you couldn't help but to feel scattered emotions.

"It means you can't have....."

"I know what it means." You shot back. Your tone was angry and reasonably so, but it was misplaced. The doctor didn't do this to you, she was just the unfortunate one who had to tell you.

"I'm sorry dear. Even though you are young I know this must be hard." The doctor told you. "I'll leave you both to talk. You are free to leave at any time, though."

She left the room shortly after. You felt all these horrible feelings and yet you didn't show it, you couldn't. You didn't cry, you couldn't. You didn't scream and yell, you couldn't. You didn't even make a sound, you couldn't.

"Honey..." You heard your mother's voice, but you didn't acknowledge her. You kept staring blankly at the wall. "It's going to be okay. I know that it might be different to think about, but there's always other things."

You just wanted to leave. You didn't know what you were gonna do, but you wanted to leave.

"Mom can we just go?" You asked without even looking at her. She nodded and stood up, even though you still kept your gaze on the wall in front of you.

You saw her walk past you, and you stood up and walked after her. You followed all the way to the car before climbing in and buckling your seatbelt. You still didn't look anyone in the eye or even look in anyone's general direction at all.

The car ride and was long and dragged out further than it seemed it should have.

When you pulled into the driveway you didn't even wait for your mom to turn off the car before you ran inside the house and locked yourself in your room.

You did the same thing you kept doing, blankly staring at the wall in front of you. The wall was a bit more entertaining in your room, littered in baseball posters.

You heard a knock at your window, but you didn't get up to answer it. Another knock came a few seconds after you didn't respond, but you still didn't move a finger.

Benny figured you either didn't hear him or you were in the bathroom, so he let himself in, sliding the window up and climbing in.

He shut the window and turned around to see you staring at the wall. He was confused to say the least. He'd never seen you quite in this position before. Still, he knew there was something wrong, even though you didn't show any emotion. He felt it.

"My love, what's wrong?" He came over and sat down by you on your bed, trying to get your attention. He even took your hands in his, which normally made you feel butterflies in your stomach, but you didn't feel it. You didn't feel anything.

"They didn't put me on birth control." You stated flatly. There was no emotion in your words, which lead Benny to be more confused, but still he went along asking questions.

"Why not?" He suddenly got afraid, and started to get nervous about the situation. Did he get you pregnant? That was the only reason he could think they wouldn't put you on birth control.

"Because I can't..." You trailed off, starting to finally let realization into your mind and into your voice. You were starting to feel the sadness of it all. It felt horrible.

"You can't what?" He was starting to really worry about you. Your emotions were never scattered like this, normally you were tough about things.

"Benny...." You finally turned to look him in the eyes to see how worried he was for you. Your eyes couldn't help but tear up as you told him. "I'm infertile."
