I looked around at the familiar faces as all of the senior class of Highlanders High emerged from the school. My eyes searched for her but I couldn't find her, I twirled my fingers nervously trying to calm my nerves but to no avail my nerves were shot. We marched onto the football field, our gowns flowing in the wind. People held their caps down trying to not let it fly off. I took my seat next to Adam as the principal started to talk. My leg shook violently as the principals words filled my ears. A hand landed on my shoulder as Mr. Evans said "Seniors we are all grateful to have such a amazing four years with you..." I turned around to see Ivy smiling at me. Automatically my nerves began to calm down, I smiled back at her. The cherry blossom trees swayed in the wind causing the leaves to fall around us.

"Its finally time for us to leave..." whispered Adam

I relaxed in my chair, placing my hand over Ivy's. "To think that we have come so far.." I said barely above a whisper, Adam smiled over at me giving my hand a squeeze.

"I'll see you again some day.." he whispered as the principal bellowed out

"Here's where your life begins!"

Everyone stood up throwing their graduations caps off. Blue and black caps filled the air, couple kissed. Jocks tackled each other. I stood in the middle of all of it watching everything around me. I lowered my cap and let it fall to the ground...

"But... The past won't let me go..." I whispered tears trailing down my cheek

Ivy hugged her friends, her smile could be noticed anywhere at anytime. I clenched my hands into a fist and took off towards the football field gates. The bad thing about being the leader of a gang is that you have to pay the consequences of the other members... I tore off my gown letting it blow away. My slim black dress clunged to my body, I pulled up my leather jacket. As I entered the warehouse, I knew what was about to happen...

*WHAM!*

(Ivy's POV)

"Claire! I am going to miss the hell out of you!" said Ivy hugging Claire

I turned around looking for Alice, but I could not find her. The football field started to clear as I saw her gown flow through the gates. I took off my heels and ran over to her, but instead of stopping her.. I followed... Please forgive me babe..

The sun started to set as she reached a beaten down warehouse, I started to step towards her but a man popped up behind her and smacked her upside the head with a pipe. Her body clashed to the ground, blood pouring out of her open wound on her head. I rushed towards her, tears running down my face. The men surrounded her and began kicking at her roughly. I pushed the men out of the way and covered myself over her. They looked at us weirdly, one guy lifted my chin smiling down at me. I closed my eyes as his fist connected with my jaw. I stayed in my position not allowing any blows to hit Alice anymore.

"STOP!" screamed a voice

My vision started to black out as Adam and the rest of the crew rushed in beating up the men surrounding us. I laid on the ground covering Alice's face, her blood covered my hands and face. I closed my eyes and fell into a deep sleep, right as Adam rushed over and picked us up...

(At the Hospital, Both characters are out at the moment)

"Right now they are both in critical care, Ivy is okay and they said she would be waking up in a little bit" said Adam twirling his fingers slowly

Everyone sat in silence, fear ate at their minds. The emergency room doors opened as the doctor entered. Everyone stood up as he walked towards us with a clipboard.

"Ivy woke up, one of you can go see her" said the doctor

Everyone looked at each other, Adam stepped up asking the doctor questions. Derek walked past them into the emergency room doors towards Ivy's room.

"How is Alice?" said Adam

The doctor's expression turned grim, he looked down at his clipboard and shook his head.

"She's not waking up... This was the second blow to the head and it caused a lot of damage to her nerves...I don't think she's ever going to wake up..." said the doctor

Adam covered his mouth and collapsed into a chair, the crew broke out into sobs as the doctor walked away... Derek entered Ivy's room, she laid propped up on her bed looking down at her hands. Derek sucked in a breath and walked in, Ivy looked over at him. Her face had scratches and her arms were bruised really badly. He pulled up a chair next to her bed and sat down...

"How are you feeling?" said Derek lowly

"I'm okay.. how is Alice? Why did she go there?" said Ivy

Derek looked down at his hands, he knew something that no one else knew... Ivy's face turned white as Derek said those few words she did not want to hear.

"She went to pay off my debt... which was a beating if the money wasn't returned..." said Derek tears falling from his face

Ivy covered her mouth, she couldn't believe what she was hearing. Why would Alice do that?! She knew she would be killed if she did! Was it because she didn't have a choice or what?..

"W-why.." Ivy said barely above a whisper

"That's just the kind of person that Alice is... She always took hits for the crew... She was always put in the hospital for our stupid acts... The leader always paid for it" said Derek now sobbing

Ivy lowered her face into her hands and screamed "GET OUT!" He stood up and quickly rushed out. Ivy sat and cried trying to hold in her anger. No one came into her bedroom the rest of that day... She was relieved at that but at the same time felt alone...

(The day Ivy gets out of the hospital)

"Welcome home!" screamed the crew

Adam stood holding a party popper, everyone cheered as she walked out of the hospital. I smiled at them all. But as I looked around...

"Where's Alice?" I asked

Everyone's faces turned white as I asked this, Adam clutched the popper to his chest tightly.

"Guys..." I said slowly

Adam spoke up first... "She's still in the hospital.."

"But its been a week now!" I screamed

Adam looked down at the ground, I took a step forward slamming my fists into Adam's chest. "Why isn't she out!" I screamed

Adam began to tear up as I sobbed loudly. He grabbed my wrists and whispered lowly.

"I'm sorry.. She's not waking up... ever..." said Adam

The whole world seemed to stop as he said this. My body crashed to the ground, I fell into Adams embrace. Everyone stepped back as I screamed out.

"This is not fair.." I screamed

Adam held me close and hummed tunes to calm me down, a slight wind blew around us. I cried for what seemed like forever...

"Alice... My dear sweet Alice... Please... Wake up..."
