Drowning

His vision clouded. The sky scrapers now seemed like blurry images, distorted by the water.

His throat burned. Who knew how much water he had swallowed in the past ten seconds.

His lungs were screaming. He needed air immediately.

His leg hurted. It felt as if a million needles were stuck into it. He could not move it no matter how hard he tried.

Desperate, he flailed his hands in the water, trying to stay afloat.

But it was no use.

Everytime his head bobbed out of the water, he would get dragged under by a sudden current.

He was tired.

He didn't want to try anymore.

Finally, he stopped struggling and let himself sink.

Down into the darkness below.
