Chapter 27. Drawing a line

Start from the beginning

Alphas began questioning mostly me but some towards the council. Wanting to know why the council was involved. Blake informed them of the rumors of the male white wolf and that they believe it is Alpha Jackson, they'd been tracking him for awhile and saw this as the perfect opportunity. They asked several questions about me: how I hid my scent, why I hadn't come forward earlier, who all knew who I was, things like that. One question hit me though and I wasn't sure how to answer it.

"Who are your parents?" A small, kind looking Luna asked. I wasn't sure if I should answer it or not and looked to Michael. He shrugged, leaving it to me. I didn't think it would be an issue so I decided to reveal it.

"My mother is the witch/vampire hybrid Nymeriah. My father is Orion Silver." I answered with confidence. I was proud to be able to name them. Instantly shock and whispers rang through the room. The council even stood shocked.

"No... how can that be?" Blake ask in surprise.

"I don't know much about them other than what my wolf remembers from when we were separated." I admitted truthfully. It was a sad truth, one day I hoped to have more answers.

"How long ago was this?" Gabriel ask, Blake was still stunned in surprise. She almost looked betrayed.

"14 years ago, give or take." I responded feeling very uneasy. I had forgotten that the council would know them.

"I knew them both, we all did," Blake said sadly referring to the other council members, "we didn't know what happened to them.."

"I don't know if they're alive." I admitted, "if anyone has heard any rumors about their whereabouts though I'd love to hear it." No one said anything though, I knew it was a long shot but I'd hoped someone had heard something.

"If there isn't anything else, all other alphas are dismissed. If you feel you're ready to pledge or deny loyalty, then you are free to do so. If you need time to think that is acceptable as well." Gabriel said releasing everyone.

Three alphas stood and declared loyalty and wanted to be a part of whatever we were going to do. The others mostly seemed like they were going to go along but needed to think it through and discuss with their packs. I wished more had come forward but I was thankful for the ones that did. There were two alphas that I didn't think had any intention of being on our side, but time will tell.

Once all the alphas were gone the council remained. They seemed to relax a bit. The witch councilman chatted happily with Amy, learned that his name was Jonathan and he had known any for a long time. Thomas saw them chatting, I saw a pang of jealousy in his face before he hid it and walked up to them.

"Jonathan, how are you, it's been a long time." Thomas politely greeted the councilman.

"That it has, that is has. So tell me, did you know? Is that why you've been living among humans?" Jonathan ask, obviously referring to me being Thomas' niece.

"Believe it or not, I did not. I felt drawn to her and the need to protect her but I had no clue. My sister was clever and hid her well." Thomas replied, I could feel the edge of hurt in his voice. I knew he felt guilt whenever his sister is mentioned.

"Such an interesting story! So many puzzle pieces all mismatched but fitting together." Jonathan exclaimed, showing some enthusiasm. "And what about you dear Amy? How did you get mixed up in all of this?"

"Well I came to school here to study. Noel befriended me on her first day. She's such a kind soul." Amy replied, she was hesitating about what to say next but seemed to decided and with a sigh admitted, "and Thomas here is my mate."

I saw the shock on Jonathan's face before he quickly hid it. I also felt a sense of judgement.

"Please allow me to inform my coven in my own time." Amy added.

"Oh of corse, of corse. Happy to see you've finally found your mate. I wish the both of you happiness!" Jonathan responded, it did not sound very genuine.

Michael, Blake, Gabriel, and the other councilman had been discussing strategy while I was listening to Amy's exchange. Since it was over I turned back to Michael, only to blush deeply when I realized I was caught eves dropping.

"It really is such a wonder dear Noel, you made these friendships before anyone knew what you were. You've successfully drawn together the races, on a small scale, but it's still quite the feat." Blake honored me, I blushed in response. "I wish you knew more about your parents. They were both dear friends and didn't deserve what's happened to them. It is a wonder that your mother was even able to get pregnant with you!"

"I really wish I had answers. I still hold hope that they may be alive and be able to answer my questions some day." I responded sadly. I wanted nothing more than to meet my parents. Suddenly a thought popped into my head. "How long have you known there was a white wolf?"

"About 20 years now. Your parents disappeared shortly after we found out. Finding the white wolf was something they were both working on." Gabriel responded solemnly, "we assumed they had run into the wolf and that it didn't end well."

I cringed, for all we knew, that could've been what happened.

After some more questions and strategy talk, the council members took their leave. Once they were gone the atmosphere seemed to lighten up greatly.

Michael, Brian, Brie, Thomas, Amy, and I talked amongst ourselves for awhile. It was really crazy how much everything had changed in such a short amount of time.

Amy and Thomas mad me relive Jackson's attack over and over, trying to fully understand what happened. It was nearly impossible to bear but I knew they were asking for a reason so I pushed through. Trying to remember every detail. After going through it all a few times Amy came up with a conclusion.

"I think he has the power to force others to do as he says. I think that since you're also a white wolf it didn't work as well though. But your wolf couldn't come out and you had to push your body to do as you wanted. It's the only thing that makes sense." Amy concluded. The grave look of all my loved ones told me they agreed. At least now we know he has a special ability, a very dangerous one.

We talked for a bit more. We ate when it was dinner time then went our separate ways. Michael picked me up bridal style when he saw how drained I was. I rested my head against his chest and closed my eyes.

Suddenly, my eyes shot open and my chest constricted. We were heading to the room that Jackson attacked me! I felt like I couldn't breath, I couldn't go back in there. Michael noticed my heart rate speed up and stopped walking. I could faintly hear him ask what was wrong but I just squeezed my eyes shut, silently panicking.

I heard a door open, my panic rose thinking we were in that room. However, when I finally forced my eyes open we were in a different room entirely. The furnishings were nice and the room was a nice size, not as nice as our room. I was over the moon thankful. I couldn't handle staying in that room. Michael kissed me as he set me down on the bed.

"I knew you wouldn't want to go there love, I will do everything I can to help you. I'm so sorry I wasn't there." Michael said, the guilt written all over his face.

"It's not your fault Michael. I'm sure he was very careful planning what he did. Let's just be thankful I made it out and now everything is out in the open." I replied truthfully.

"That is true. I think we should move the marriage and Luna ceremony to tomorrow." Michael replied, he was now cuddled behind me with his hot breath fanning my neck, sending goosebump all over my body.

I didn't want to wait anymore. I wanted to be his forever. I just nodded my head. Michael hugged me tighter and we fell asleep that way. Happy and content in each other's arms.

Tomorrow, I would become his wife, Luna, and we would finally be fully mated.
