As long as the resentments in our hearts remain,
No point in hashing out the past,
What does it matter how these things start?
It's too late for us to go back and redo our story,
There is no use of keep living with the future's worry,
Let us end this here, right now!
Let us not talk about why or how.
What good would it do to go down memory lane?
Our relationship had already been strained,
I believe in clean breaks, letting things go,
No reason to keep smiling just for the show.
I think it's okay to go back to our respective lives,
To be ourselves again, making sure that no one cries,
To be who we were before, we were being silly there,
It's not possible to change each other simply because we dare.
To keep hoping that things will get better is a futile dream,
To think that we even have a right to scream,
At the hand that has been played to us,
for a life we didn't live, why make a fuss?
Let's be strangers once again,
Let's forget the memories we shouldn't retain,
Let's forget we even knew each other,
Mostly, let's not hurt ourselves any further.
