I've cropped you out of my life,
As if you were never there to begin with,
As if I didn't love you with all my heart,
As if you weren't there from the start.
When I try to remember the good times we had together,
I fail miserably and only recall the pain I've felt,
Were we really happy once upon a time?
Was hoping to live my dreams truly a crime?
You broke my heart and left me to pick up the pieces,
All on my own, without help from anyone else,
How cruel have you been, I wonder,
To this grief, after your betrayal, I had to surrender.
Was our love really that fragile?
One bump in the road and it shattered,
Broken beyond repair, forgotten beyond revival,
To think, was it really that trivial?
