A Night To Remember

Start from the beginning

The door to the store opened as Taemin entered to find his friend in a deep sleep. A worried expression climbed his adorable features as he quietly approached the sleeping boy.

"Key?" Taemin whispered as he put a hand on the boy's shoulder, only to be shocked when Key fell down from the chair.

"Aigo, hyung I'm so sorry!" Taemin apologized as he rushed to Key's side.

Key hurried up from the floor as he blinked a couple of times to collect himself, only to find Taemin standing right in front of him.

"Oh, Taemin..." Key smiled weakly as he tried to rub his eyes without getting eyeliner all over the place. "I'm sorry; I just haven't slept at all."

"It's fine," Taemin smiled assuring, a bit of concern showing in his voice as he spoke. "We got home pretty late... But how are you?"

"Great," Key lied with a smile, a cough or two escaped his lips as he spoke. "Okay, I've maybe gotten a little sick."

"I can't believe the athlete team would throw you into the pool..." Taemin let out sad as his gaze found the floor. "It's such a long time since you and Minho had that fight. It wasn't even your fault."

A lot of comments were tugging on Key's lips, but he decided not to say anything; because honestly it was pretty painful to watch Taemin look so guilty about it all just because he knew Minho. Besides, the boy hadn't talked about him and Minho, so Key couldn't really do much about it.

"Have Jonghyun texted you?" Taemin suddenly asked.

"Hmm, no... My phone kind of saw the last light before it got thrown into the pool along with me." Key replied as he pursed his lips into a thin line. "Have he texted you?"

"No, I lost my phone at the party." Taemin replied as he got seated on the counter. "What a night, huh?"

"Yeah, one of the many nights I regret." Key chuckled with no emotion showing in his voice.

"It wouldn't have happened if Jonghyun hadn't left..." Taemin admitted as he let his legs tangle from the counter.

"Maybe not, but we don't even know why he left." Key replied as his thoughts began to rush about all that had happened at the party. "I'm kind of worried about him."

Taemin looked up in surprise as Key put a hand over his mouth... Those words had only supposed to be a thought.

"Kibum-ah," Taemin scooted closer with an apologizing look. "So am I. I just don't know what to do if we can't contact him."

"True..." Key replied as he pounded on it for a moment. "We could go visit him?"

Taemin nodded in agreement as the two headed to Jonghyun's house after Key's shift was done.

"I don't get it," Taemin pouted. "Where could he possibly be without us knowing? We hang out with him all the time."

"I don't know..." Key replied, concern beginning to take over his whole body.

Taemin wrapped his skinny arms around his own torso to keep warm as he watched the rain fall. It was a quiet Saturday, but no Jonghyun? That wasn't normal. That boy loved weekends so he would always spend it with his friends, and now he didn't? It just didn't seem normal.

"Maybe he's at the music store?"

"He could be... He loves to spend time there." Key said as he turned to look at the other.

"Great, then that's what we will do." Taemin smiled softly as he waited for a car to pass so they could cross the road.

"Wait," Key stopped Taemin as he watched the car that had just passed them. "Wasn't that Jonghyun?"
