The Certifiable

Chapter 2

Cathy's POV

I woke up hoping this was all just a bad dream and that I fell asleep on my father's chair in the basement but reality hit me hard like ice cold water on my face realising I am still tied up in the same place.

I just wished I could be back in my father's arms again I felt save and loved but now thats gone too.

Flashback of four years ago...

Today was my sweet sixteen the day every girl was dreaming of.

The day I had become more of a woman than I was yesterday but also the day everything changed and it was made the worst day of my life.

As I came walking down the stairs my father stood there beside my mother.My dad was always the first to cry.

"Aww my little princess is becoming a young adult",my father said as he wiped a tear rolling down his cheeck and I also started to feel like crying but it was joyful tears we both cried as I held my father.

It was now time to attend my party my parents planned for me walking out the backdoor I was suprised with all my friends and my best friend Jenna.

She always made everything better in my life.The party kept on going on for five hours I stood by my father talking to him when all of a sudden he just fainted.

I went into shock as he laid there on the ground shaking I started to panic,my mother came rushing towards us.

"Call nine-one-one now!",she screamed at me.

Grabbing my phone I dialed nine-one-one.

The paramedics arrived at the scene quickly and rushed my father to the nearest hospital.

All me and my mother could do was hold his hand and pray he would be okay.We arrived at the hospital,they took him to the emergancy room.

Me and my mother waited until a docter came
towards us with a sad expression on his face.

I immediately knew there was something wrong.

"I am sorry Mrs.Daniels but your husband didn't make it",he said as he sat between me and my mother trying to soothe us.My mother started screaming and kicking things while she let out a sad cry.

I just sat there in shock the tears rolled freely down my cheecks.So many emotions rushed through me,sadness anger and frustration but most of all I felt completely numb and lost.

I sat there thinking how is this real,how can such a beautiful day turn into the worst day of my life.

It took a few years to get over most of the sorrow and soak up most of the tears.

I graduated from high school and found a little job to keep myself busy,we didn't need money as we had plenty of it,my dad was the CEO

and owner of an industrial company called Daniels CO and after my father's death I was to take his place at the age of 22 and become the heiress of Daniels CO.

It was now three years since my father's death and my mom got a boyfriend he also had a son same age as me.

My mom fell in love again and they got married.Me and my stepbrother got along for a few months but then shit became really weird between us.

He started touching me and when we ate dinner at the table he would sit next to me and put his hand on my thigh.

I told my mother about it but she would do nothing about it she said that I was overreacting and maybe my stepbrother wanted to show me some stepbrother love,that was all she said that day before she and her second husband left for an anniversary vacation.

I had absolutely no problem with Tom,my mothers second husband,he was a noble guy sweet and loving towards my mother and me but Josh,his son,was the problem.

The things he did to me was inappropriate. Being left home alone with him for three days scared me so I asked my mother if I could invite Jenna to stay the weekend.

Luckily my mother and Tom had no problems with that and I felt a huge relief come over me.

As me and Jenna slept I would often see Josh standing by my bedside looking at me.It scared me but I kept my eyes closed so he would think I was still sleeping but I kept my eyes open enough to see him.

Next day I told Jenna about what has been going on and she was freaked out by the situation and Josh's actions.

So she called her boyfriend over for the knight Josh didn't know about it but her boyfriend was secretly in my room and he was sleeping in my walk in closet.

That night I woke up seeing Josh standing right in front of me. So I screamed out and he jumped up on me and started to strangle me.

That's when Brad,Jenna's boyfriend pulled Josh off me,I stood up quickly from my bed to see that Brad and Josh were fighting all I could hear was Brad"s voice,"Cathy run!",he yelled at me and I did as I was told.

Running deep into the woods at the middle of the night I heard two gunshots being fired off and I started to cry thinking Jenna and Brad is be dead because of me.

I kept on running into the woods knowing he was after me and that's how I ended up in this hell that I am in now.
