You Taught Me How to Love

PROLOG

Jasper Huang. Or at least, that's his US name. His Chinese name was Huang Yi Wei. He's the son of a Chinese Businessman, a billionaire.

Just a little bit of story.. Huang Kei Ling, his father, moved to the US back in 1998. At that time, he knew economy in US was going to grow in the future. He moved to New York, married a young, beautiful US woman, Alexa Hudson. Then, Jasper was born. That was 2001. He's now 18 years old.

Since his childhood, Jasper was showered with basically everything he needed. A house? No problem. A car? Which model. A butler? Want 10 of them?

But he was not aware of all that. He just did what he needed to do in life, copying what everyone else was doing. He didn't know what he wanted. He didn't understand how to live as himself. He only knows how to live as Huang Kei Ling's son.

His mother was not there when Jasper needed her the most. In fact, she left him all alone.

Alexa, was 20 when she married the 30 years old Huang Kei Ling. Kei Ling was not handsome, but she needed his money. Kei Ling loved her so much that he let go of the fact that Alexa was cheating.

He hired a professional investigator and found out that Alexa didn't actually love him. The young, beautiful Alexa loved her high school boyfriend whom she dumped right after graduation.

Alexa knew both of them had no future. Her ex-boyfriend had no money to support his education, neither Alexa did. They were both desperate about how their life were going to be.

Alexa decided to sacrifice her youth to support her ex-boyfriend. At 19, she bluntly went to the most expensive club in New York. There she met Huang Kei Ling and his business friends. At the time, she didn't know anything about rich people. She just needed someone who had money. She wasn't looking for a billionaire. She thought, someone who could provide education is enough.

She went around the club looking stupid as it was her first time there. There was a moment where a really-really old man was trying to play with her. Not all men in the club wanted to marry or at least support a girl. They just wanna play, and leave her. Alexa didn't know this. She thought her innocent beauty could lure any man.

Well, she was not totally wrong tho. At least one person there really was lured by her beauty. Kei Ling watched her move around confused and he found it cute. He fell for her.

As soon as he knew Alexa was not comfortable with the old man, he helped her. Alexa didn't know who he was. But Kei Ling was wearing such a wonderful suit and talked to Alexa with a chinese accent. Alexa was confused. Foreigner was not the one she was looking for. But he wore a suit, so she decided to talk to him first.

As they were talking, Kei Ling discovered the wonderful side of Alexa behind her beauty. Yep, she was not being a fake person that tried to seduce for money. Instead, talking with Kei Ling let her be herself. She talked about how passionate she was about her hobby in painting. And how she loved the theater so much. This was very interesting for Kei Ling as all he had heard all his life was economy, money, and country's grow.

Alexa went home that day. She had so much fun talking about her dreams that she forgot her true intention of coming to the club. Well, she just thought "ah, it didn't go as planned. But i will try next time.".

2 days later, she got a message from Kei Ling (they had exchanged numbers). Kei Ling wrote that he had time for dinner and wanted to invite Alexa. He said he was curious about the famous paintings Alexa had talked about. At this time, Alexa knew where she was going. She felt strange, because he was a foreigner. More importantly, a Chinese. But she just went for the dinner. "If he had some money, and he's a quite good man that's willing to support for my future, it's good.". She then dated him few times. She was surprised that he was a millionaire (he was not a billionaire back then) and the fact that he had many well business going on. They got married in 1999.

With the allowance Kei Ling was giving her, she saved half for her ex-boyfriend. At first, she didn't think of cheating, she just hoped that his ex is living a good life and is able to get education. But as time went on, she felt it. She felt how lonely it was to live with someone she didn't love. She sometimes loses her temper, and she sometimes meet up with her ex. Kei Ling knew Alexa was up to something. After he found out, he was really disappointed and heart-broken. But for love, he didn't just abandon Alexa for her sin. He kept supporting Alexa. And in 2000, it turned out she was pregnant. He was worried whether it was his child or not. But he didn't tell Alexa about it. He didn't tell anything for what he knows. He was afraid Alexa would leave him. He didn't want her gone even after knowing the fact that she was cheating. That's just how much he loved her.

After Jasper (Yi Wei) was born. Kei Ling was very glad to know that it was his child. But at the same time he couldn't show his love for the baby as he was heart-broken.
When Jasper was 2 years old. You can already see Chinese blood inside him, because he had narrow eyes. But he was very handsome for he had both the genes of US and Chinese.
