Alexa's P.O.V

As I stood on the sidelines, I realized that something was brewing. Something big. It's like how a dog can sense when a storm is coming, a pull deep in my gut that made me want to shift uneasily.

Discretely, while my body faced my locker, I looked around and saw who but Aaron stalking down the hall to the new girl, Bianca, who was talking to a bewildered freshman.

When the poor freshie saw Aaron coming closer, she gave a quick high pitched squeal before tearing down the hall at breakneck speed.

Seeing the look on Aaron's face, I muttered,"uh oh" under my breath and started to walk up to him, hopefully avoiding a brawl in the middle of the hallway. Yet as I was closing my locker, a firm hand grasped my arm and pulled me to a stop. Turning, I looked at Nathan with a perplexed look. "What are you doing?"

Not looking at me and instead watching Aaron, Mason said,"stop. It's time he got put in his place."

Wrinkling my forehead, I conceded.

Just as I was thinking of a reply, I head Aaron's deep voice resonate throughout the hallway. And I haven't heard him this mad since in second grade when I stole his candy from his lunchable during our fieldtrip to Meadow Brook.

"Just who do you think you are?!" Aaron's angry voiced rumbled. "Just because you think you've been through a lot doesn't mean you know what's going on, sweetheart. What gives you the right to dictate how I should live my life?! In case you didn't know, you are nothing. You haven't even experienced life yet!" At that, he ended his angry tirade.

Wide-eyed, everyone in the hallway looked over at Bianca, who's head was tilted to the side, a considering look on her face.

As Aaron took a deep breath and looked at her expectantly, she raised an eyebrow and said,"are you done?"

When Aaron gave her a startled glance and reluctantly nodded, she took a deep breath and slowly let it out. "When I was in 6th grade, I was 5"6. My sister who was 8 years older than me was only 5"4. As a 6th grader, I tried to compensate for my height by being very slender. However, no matter how many meals I skipped, I was still gaining more weight while my friend, who was a modest 5"3 and ate like a 3 ton elephant, was thin as a flagpole. In 7th grade, I was in advanced math and english while ahead of some of my eighth grade friends. Now, you might be wondering where I'm going with this."

Pausing for effect, Bianca swept a gaze around the crowd. No one seemed fazed by the fact that the bell rang 3 minutes ago. However, my eyes were focused on Aaron, who seemed just as confused.

"Everyone is different,"Bianca's crystal clear voice rang out. "What I've experienced so far is a lot to me. For example, hiding a dead body might be a lot to you while missing the newest Protato or whatever bag is a lot to a snobby rich girl. But maybe next, you'll kill someone and that would be a lot to you and the girl will not get new jewelery for a montht and that's a lot to her. The thing is, everyone's "a lot" is changing with each experience you have. As something that was a lot to you before becomes common, you idea of "a lot" will change. So my bottom line is, we are two different people. You don't know me as well as you think, so you have no right to judge me. Maybe I was just trying to help you because clearly you don't know how to help yourself. I'm sorry to intrude and I won't do it again."

With that, Bianca swivvled on her heel and headed to the science wing.

In the 15 years, I've known Aaron, I have never seen him this speechless before. Shaking my head, I looked up at Mason, who was now clutching my hand. "Excuse me?" I asked. This jerked him out of his reverie and he let go of my hand as if it burned him. "Yeah see you later."

Going up to Aaron, I poked his shoulder. "Come on, jerk. We gotta get to class."

Clearly, he was still thinking about what Bianca had said for he didn't even reprimand me for calling him "jerk" and he followed me without question.

Sparing one glance behind me, I saw that Mason's eyes were focused on my hand gripping Aaron's.

Shaking off the shiver I suddenly got, I announced,"okay guys show's over get to class." Almost all at once, the hallway was once again bustling with sound and crowds.
