Nagito didn't die in a hospital bed. He begged for days for Hajime to bring him under the stars, preferably on the beach so he could be with all the things he loved, including Hajime. He did so, with permission from the hospital, knowing his time was up. They sat beneath the stars, shoes off near the shoreline. It set in rather quickly that Nagito willingly left, satisfied for once in his life.
