Y/n's POV
‘’Flight 406 will take off in 1 hour, please make your way over to gate 4.’’ The intercom sounded. I looked around me, searching for gate 4. I was travelling back to America after a 3-week transfer in South-Korea. The company I worked for was huge worldwide. Sometimes employees were established in other countries to deal with important stuff, which couldn’t be handled from far away. This time it had been my turn. I’d been in Korea for a few weeks and was now finally heading back to my home. The aroma of coffee filled my nostrils as I saw the ‘gate 4’ sign. I clenched my fingers around the cup of coffee I was holding. Realizing that I was finally leaving and that I probably wouldn’t ever return. I took a deep breath, reassuring myself that I was ready to leave. The airport was awfully crowded. Peculiar was that there were mostly young girls. I shook my head softly. It didn’t matter to me. I walked past the group and showed my ticket to a woman. As I handed it over, I glanced at the ticket once again. The letters V.I.P. were clearly visible. I sighed as I saw them. I’ve told my boss so many times that a normal seat would be just as perfect, but he insisted on booking a V.I.P. seat for me. The woman scanned the ticket with a small scanner, which then showed a green screen. She nodded and smiled as she stepped aside to make way for me. ‘’You can find your seat at the left side of the V.I.P. section.’’ She said. It sounded scripted. I smiled back out of politeness and walked past her. As soon as my face wasn’t visible for her to see anymore, my smile left my face again. It’s always the same. Scripted. Like robots. No one actually cared about anyone. They are just doing their job. In the end of the day, a smile is just a sign of politeness, not of happiness.
I sighed and ran my hand through my hair. I decided to leave my hair loose, since plane-seats are not comfortable when you’re wearing a ponytail. As I walked closer to the entrance of the plane, I saw a flight attendant already waiting for the guests. Her face lit up with another fake smile, and so did mine. I walked past her and gave her a quick nod. I entered the V.I.P. section and searched for my seat. At the back of the V.I.P. section there was another door; the door towards normal seats. I found my seat, located near the outer left corner at the back. I was one of the first passenger in the plane, like usual. I liked being there early, that way I could settle easily. I sat down and looked around me, scanning the surroundings. In front of me I could find a TV. Next to the TV there was a small fridge filled with cold drinks. I looked at the foldable table attached to the seat in front of me. I unfolded it and realized it was unnecessary luxury. It consisted of multiple holders; One for drinks, one for plates of food, one for cutlery and it even provided a phone charger. I shook my head, judging the overdone aspects and pulled up the hood of my hoodie. As I leaned back into the seat again, I looked around the V.I.P. section and counted that there were around 20 seats here. My eyes travelled from the front to the back of the section and my eyes fell upon an emergency-axe contained behind a thin cold layer of glass, which could easily be broken. I returned my eyes to my bag and took out the book I took with me and placed it besides me. ‘’Hello, have a nice flight!’’ I saw the flight attendant bow and 7 guys walked in, 2 of them being extremely loud. They seated at the front of the V.I.P. section, close to the plane entrance. ‘’12 spots left...’’ I whispered to myself and then shook my head, questioning why I even counted that. The plane quickly filled with the other passengers and soon we were already high up in the skies. The flight was a few hours, crossing the Pacific Ocean.
The plane was now in the air for around one hour. Time passed quickly as I was listening to music while reading the book I’d taken with me. I had just finished one of the chapters as the plane suddenly started to shake; turbulence. I took out my air pods to listen to the intercom. ‘’Don’t worry, passengers.’’ The intercom sounded. ‘’We are just facing some turbulence, it will be over soon.’’ I sighed in relief and closed my book. I was getting tired, so I decided to lie down and get some rest. However, the turbulence didn’t stop, and people were getting scared. Then the intercom sounded again. ‘’We are having some unexpected issues, please fasten your sea-.’’ The intercom got cut off and the plane started shaking even more. I heard children cry from out of the other section and people started screaming in fear. I gulped, scared of what would happen. The track of the plane, which had been entirely straight till now, curved downwards. I held onto my chair as the thoughts passed through my mind. We were crashing; the plane was going to crash. I looked out of the window and saw the blue water coming closer and closer. An alarm started ringing. While everyone was panicking, I saw the 7 boys from earlier hurrying over to the entrance of the plane. They were smart. Jumping out of the plane before hitting the water was less dangerous than hitting the water while being inside of the plane. Other people seemed to realize this fact too, and all stumbled hurriedly towards the entrance. Most of them failing, because of gravity sucking them downwards. I quickly concluded that I wouldn’t make it to the entrance in time, as I saw the destination being blocked off by falling business men. Was this the end for me? I clenched my fists, preparing for the upcoming pain. The screams from people around me slowly faded and movements became blurry. My vision was filled with tears and my brain stopped working. The last thing I processed was an enormous splash.
{A/N: Yeheess, I finally decided to publish 'Turbulence' on Wattpad as well! Turbulence is further published on my Instagram:
@ Straytiny. I can already see some of you heading to my Insta to continue reading, but I'd recommend you to wait till the next part publishes on Wattpad. The chapters I post here, are double checked and better edited.
And then it is also the question if someone is actually gonna read this.. Cuz it's kinda trash smh.}
