Seto's Little Mermaid (Seto Kaiba x reader)

Ch.6 Trouble at home

(Y/N)'s P.O.V

It's been a few days after the meet up with Seto and Mokuba and the shark incident. When I got home, my mom immediately saw the wound and healed it, but it left me a scar.

Every time we would meet up, Mokuba would always tell me about the land and what humans do, and I would tell him about the wonders of the deep and what merfolk do. I began to become curious about the human world and dream about having legs.

Seto and I became close friends with every meet up. He would sometimes teach me some tricks about Duel Monsters and I would take him underwater, but closer to the surface so he could breathe.

There were times when I would think about him day and night. Those deep blue eyes were like sapphire and that thick, soft brown hair was like chocolate, I couldn't help but fall for him even more. Now I know how my mother felt when she was in love with my father....

Speaking of her, I was wondering how come my mom didn't wish to be human so she could be with dad? I decided to ask her...

"Mom?"

"Yes, angelfish?" She replied.

"How come you didn't think about becoming a human?" I asked.

She stiffened. She took a deep breath and answered my question, "I wanted to become human, so that your father and I could be together. I wanted to ask my friend who was good with potions, to make me one that would transform me. But she refused, and we got into a fight. I was so desperate, that I found a legend; if a human declares his unconditional love to a mermaid, the mermaid shall regain human legs. But sadly, that didn't happen. So I gave up..." She said finishing her story.

I was in awe. My mother then turned to me and eyed me curiously.

"Why did you ask me?" She wondered.

"Oh, I just wanted to know if there is any way so that I could experience how my father's life was on land. To walk, to dance, to run and jump... And maybe win the heart of the boy..." I trailed.

My mom gasped. "Sorry, honey. But, I won't allow you to do that." She replied sternly. My eyes went wide in shock. Why she won't let me? After all, she wanted to be a human girl herself.

"Why?" I asked, still in shock.

"Even though you know 'Seto' and 'Mokuba', the human world is dangerous. Not many people have good in their hearts. Don't ever ask me that question ever again!" She replied, all of a sudden anger in her voice.

"But, you wanted to have legs yourself!" I retorted with my voice an octave higher.

"That was long time ago! I was young and naïve! You may know everything, but you don't! You know what? I forbid you to go to the surface and meet up with that boy, for raising your voice at me, young lady!" She yelled.

My jaw dropped in utter shock. I was so mad at her that I said three word which I would later regret.

"I HATE YOU!!! You did this 'cause you hate me!" I yelled, with tears laced in my words. Angrily, I swam to my room. My mom angrily added, "Don't make me ground you for life! You better be in your room until dinner!"

I just sat on my bed and sobbed. Why would she do this to me? I just asked her a question. A simple question. I looked at the window that looked at the surface and began to think about the human world.

I imagined myself on the beach with legs, walking around, having fun under the sun, running carelessly and enjoying the sound of the waves lapping against the sand... with Seto.

My mind etched a picture of him playing with Mokuba, his smile present on his face. How his hair and his trench coat were blown by the wind, and his eyes that had fiery determination to save his brother on that stormy night...

I decided to swim away for while, to find a solution to get legs. I have made a distraction with my pillows so that my mom wouldn't suspect where I was.

I swam out my window and began my journey.

"I'm sorry, mom. But I want to be with him and get to know my father's world." I thought with determination with every stroke of my fin.

Sharla's P.O.V

"So, our little (y/n) has fallen out with her mommy dearest and she wants to be a human? Haha, this is the luckiest day of my life!" I said with glee as I watched the mermaid through the crystal ball. Now this would be my chance...

"Tenta, Fenta" I spoke to them who were spying on her,"I want you to lure her to our lair. I have an offer that she can't refuse." I said with glee. "Everything is falling into place" I thought as I cackled with glee.

(Y/M/N)'s P.O.V

As I was making the seaweed salad, and shrimp casserole for dinner, I couldn't help but feel guilty for what I said to (y/n). I only did that so that I could protect her.

I was so naïve for going to Sharla for a potion. We used to be best friends until she became jealous and became power hungry, envy and was banished from the village for sorcery. Now, I when I hear her name, chills run down my spine 'cause she swore for revenge.

Now, you see why I forbade (y/n) to go to the surface. She is the only thing I have left of (y/f/n). Before he drew his last breath, he told me to promise him that I would protect our daughter and that he would be watching her from above.

Tears welled up in my eyes and I couldn't shed them underwater. I wanted to apologize to her, but she must be still mad at me, so I decided to tell her when I finish dinner.

"I HATE YOU!!! And you did this 'cause you hate me!" Her words echoed in my mind. As I was preparing shrimps, I mentally thought of another response that I could have said to her;

"Oh, sweetie... If only you could understand that I did this because I love you, not because I hate you." I resumed my task, and decided that I would apologize to her, during dinner.
