I never said I didn't lie when I told you all it was the rain,
But only I knew that my conscience was writhing in pain
My limbs are chained to a chair with this invisible duct-tape on my face

Hate to admit it, but yes, I do need your help...

I was unaware that I could still hope to get a glimpse of the moving pictures called "Memories" in the thicket of my muddled thoughts. Alas! My head's blanker than an unruled paper, at least it had the white but here I was, with a pitch black scenery. Nothing new, I presumed, considered my expectations have always been a far cry from the real turn of events. I sighed. How looney must I have been to even believe that a shooting star could grant wishes. I expected too much from an outcast.

My castle of thoughts collapsed when a piercing, earthy scream reverberated within my earshot. Shit...vertigo....not now....let me commit my own crimes. I heard the thrashing of my shoes' soles on the chipping concrete. I was about to freefall from a 40 storied tower, but that's not what messed me up. The only line that played in my mind was,

"You are such a big fiasco, Kyles. You can't even take your life by your own discretion."

I shut my eyes. I wondered if my tears were heavy enough from the impending grief to greet the ground faster than my own hollow corpse. It was sickening, yet liberating, the sudden weightlessness I was feeling.

I gave in without constraints.

Right then, a whoosh of wind swept me back up and send me tumbling back.

The Haast eagle.

But wait, aren't those extinct? Am I already dead?

It hovered around me and then swooped towards me.

What? Another foe in disguise. Again, nothing new.

Its claws were getting bigger and I guess the joke was on him.

"Nothing changes if you bleed the eyes of an already sightless person."

THAT'S ALL FOLKS.

But why do my eyes suddenly feel so cold?

"KYLES! KYLES!"

I opened my droopy eyes. I wasn't on the tower, I was on my building's terrace.

"Aaron....what.. why?" My voice was exhausted.

"You were sleepwalking. Another lucid dream?"

"Mmhm... I was about to commit again and a Haast eagle stopped me."

"Hmm... someone's paying attention in history."

I let a breath out."Why did it save me?"

"Lemme tell you the off-topic thing ma'am told when you dozed off. Eagles...they are symbolic of freedom and courage to look ahead. There are things you aren't able to wrap your head around and it was there to show it to you, telling you to take initiative and lead people. You're a strong girl, Kyles. Stay alive, ok?"

A warm fuzzy feeling enveloped me.

Years passed. I started an NGO to change lives.

Not a day goes by, when I don't remember,

"My past inspired my future. And its BEAUTIFUL..."
