Heyo~! So like this is my first time trying to seriously write fanfiction so please forgive me if it's like really OOC or just plain bad. Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Also just a fair warning the beginning is kinda sad so if you don't like feels then this one-shot isn't for you.

~LEO'S POV~

I was sitting still for what seemed like the first time in forever. The silence of Bunker 9 is agonizing but I can't seem to do anything but sit here and let the stillness cloud my mind. I don't understand why I feel this way. I haven't felt this way in years. Why? Why is it back now?

It's been 2 years since the war and I was fine up until now, but I can't seem to shake the feeling that the whole thing was my fault. Maybe if I wasn't there Jason would still be here. Maybe if I was a better person Calypso would still love me. Maybe. Maybe I shouldn't have been there at all.

As these thoughts race through my head, I feel myself curl into a ball and tears wet my knees. Gods, I can't even keep myself from crying. I'm just so pathetic. Pathetic. It's pathetic that that seems to be the only word that seems to perfectly describe me.

"L-Leo?", A familiar voice stutters and suddenly I'm torn from my mind back to reality. I was sitting in the corner of Bunker 9 with my knees pressed into my chest, sobbing. "Yeah?", I ask as I lift my head and spot the source of the voice.

Nico di Angelo

He studied my face like he was trying to pinpoint the best way to react. After a few seconds, his face changes and he takes a step towards me. "Are you okay?", He asked, sincerity dripping from his voice. It seemed like it came from a good place even though it was forced.

I put on a sad smile, tears still flowing like rivers as I reply. "Of course I'm okay! Why would I not be okay?". Nico's face went through another series of expressions before settling on a look of concern, "Leo, you're crying. I think that means you're not okay...".

Wordlessly, I stood up from the floor and walked up to him with my arms outstretched. He gave me a confused look before realization dawned on him. "You know I don't really like hugs.", He muttered as he opened his arms and I curled into him. "I know.", I mumble into his chest, though I'm not sure he heard it. Another sob wracked my body as I felt his arms encircle me, pulling me closer to him if that's even possible.

I kept sobbing but my mind wandered, making me notice things I wouldn't normally notice, even with my ADHD. Like how his warm breath tickled my forehead and how he smelled like pomegranates and vanilla. It was an intoxicating scent, clouding my emotions like a protective fog.

My mind turned back to reality and I remembered where I was again, gods I need to stop zoning out so much! I slowly pulled back from Nico's now soaked shirt and wiped my face with my greasy hands, probably smearing oil on my face but I honestly could care less. I was already a mess, nothing could make that fact clearer.

"So- uh, why were you crying?", Nico asked me before quickly adding, "Only if you want to answer I mean!". It made me chuckle softly thinking that someone was worried about saying something wrong around me. I mean, I'm me!

"To be honest, I don't know.", I responded blankly. He tilted his head a bit in confusion. I swear I can see the individual gears turning in his head, it's kind of adorable. Adorable? Since when did I find di Angelo adorable?

Nico awkwardly sat on the floor before responding, "You don't know how many times I felt the same way.". I slowly sat beside him and sighed loudly, "Life sucks, ya know?". He giggled a bit at that before sighing back, "It sure does.".

"Hey, Nico?", I said softly. He turned to me and let out a concerned, "Yeah?". I mentally cursed myself for getting his attention when my thoughts weren't even gathered. "Can I tell you something?", I asked and he nodded.

"Well- um, I've never really told anyone this before but I want to get it off my chest.", I took a breath before continuing, "I- uh, I'm bisexual.". Nico's face did another one of its expression cycles and I knew I fucked up.

I just wordlessly got up, muttering an "I'm sorry", before being pulled back down. "Hey? Where do you think you're going? I'm not mad if that's what you think.", He softly chided me as he turned me so I was facing him again.

Tears clouded his puffy, red eyes and a sad smile spread across his face. He chuckled softly, "Well I mean I'm obligated to say this now I guess. Never told anyone either but hey, first time for both of us right?". I gave him a confused look but he continued, "Well- fuck uh no going back now- I'm gay.".

I gave him a sad smile back before tackling him in a hug. It feels good to almost smell the mutual acceptance swimming between us. He hugged back and gave a relieved laugh, "Gods it feels so good to get that out.". Instead of responding I just squeezed him tighter and sighed happily.

Who knew Nico was this soft on the inside? Honestly, I didn't. I always just thought of him as the brooding, emo teen that would rather sit in a corner than have a single friend. But I couldn't be more wrong.

Then it hit me. I wanted to learn everything about Nico di Angelo. It would take a long time but as long as I would be spending it with him, I wouldn't mind.

Wow uh, there's the first one-shot I guess! I probably could make this a lot better but I'd drive myself crazy before I'd make any improvement if I'm being honest.

But I do hope you liked this even though it wasn't couple-y if you get what I'm saying. I just really wanted to write some wholesome Valdangelo I guess!
