This day marked the celebration of the marriage between Prince Wen Ling and Lady Ju Ning, the General's daughter.

As of the moment, it was the late afternoon. The bride and groom were still separate from another, getting ready.

Wen Yue sat in her room, prepping herself for the great ceremony that would occur in just a few hours.

"Your Highness!" a young female servant called with urgency.

Yue was just putting on her overcoat when she entered. "What's the matter?"

The young servant took a deep breath, "The ceremony has been pushed earlier, so His Majesty has ordered me to retrieve you."

"Really?! Then we must leave now." she ushered.

Arriving to the hall, already guests flooded the place. The bride and groom were separate from one another talking to their in-laws.

Seeing so,Wen Yue made her way towards her brother's bride.

Upon reaching there, she greeted her. "Greetings," her lips curled into a smile.

The General's daughter also greeted back with a short smile, "Greetings, Your Highness."

Wen Yue then looked around if anyone else was waiting to speak to her in-law. Seeing that there was no one, she sat down beside her.

"Ju Ning....ahhh," she wasn't quite sure yet what to address her by.

"Just call me however you please." giving assurance.

The princess smiled at her words, "I was just going to ask how you feel about this." her first question.

She was curious how marriages were since she too would be in the same position when the time comes.

Although she would've asked her sisters, she no longer had any beside her.

They were gone.

The bride mumbled, not quite sure how to respond.

"Actually, you don't need to tell me anything. I know it must be hard for you since it wasn't you-"

"I don't feel any different." she simply answered without any change in expression of regret or longing to leave.

"For me, I see this as a duty I must fulfill. My duty is to bear a child for Wen Ling be it a daughter or son, and I will care for that child. He can have as many women as he want but I will dare not fight for his affection since my child is the most important. If he were to throw me to the side for another woman, I will also accept it because it is a fate I cannot avoid."

Just hearing those words, Wen Yue couldn't help but feel awe. She held admiration for her strong words and the sense of dignity along the lines. Knowing that if Wen Ling were to push her to the side, she wouldn't falter but only focus on her child.

Ju Ning had no time for those who wouldn't give her theirs. She only needed to focus on moving forward.

But in turn, those words were also hurtful to hear.

"That's pitiful." Yue couldn't help but say.

Ju Ning's eyes came to her.

"If my brother ever did such a thing like throwing you to the side, I don't think I could ever forgive him for doing so. You are human not an object." the princess spoke.

The bride sighed, "I know you have no other woman in the palace to guide you of these roles, but I will do my best. The role of a woman, even if a royal, is the same. There will be many women for one man, and that man gets to chose who will stand by his side while all others watch in vain." her bright eyes looked to the starry sky.
