“No you be quiet because you are the reason she won’t talk to us. Zoey you don’t even know her like that to be hanging with her. You left me hanging for her. Me and you were supposed to go visit my child an hour ago. Remember you promised that?” LaMaya said.

I totally forgot! Damn!

“Lala, I’m so sorry. I promise I didn’t mean to do this on purpose. It slipped my mind, you know I have a baby who I have to take care of 24 hours a day and E is at work most of the time.”

“Yeah, I see who’s more important than I am. I get you have the perfect life with your baby and Ezra but why did you have to do that to me? You know I feel about this whole situation and you are out riding around with ‘Brea’…she’s not your friend, I am.” LaMaya said, her voice was cracking.

“Lala, It’s not like that. The time got away from me, I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to but don’t compare my life to yours because-”

“Yours is so much better than mine, yeah I know Zoey. Tell me something I don’t! You were supposed to be there for me and you weren’t. I thought you were my best friend and you left me hanging. You get to see your daughter every single day, and you are with Ezra everyday. I asked you to come with me to see my…son and you couldn’t even do that. I don’t know why I put my trust into everybody.” LaMaya said.

I really didn’t mean to upset her, I know that her son’s death is finally catching up with her right now and she’s taking it out on me. I am her best friend, I forgot one thing and I’m sorry.

Sky and Imani were shaking their heads at me.

“Lala, I swear it’s not like that. We can still go, I just forgot.” I said feeling like shit.

“You didn’t forget, you did all the important things first and I wasn’t apart of those things but you know what, I don’t care anymore! I DON’T ZOEY! I don’t want to be friends with you anymore because you hurt me!” she said as tears started falling down her eyes.

“LaMaya what do you mean? I am your best friend, I made one mistake and I’m sorry.” I said.

“NO Zoey! You chose your best friend when you decided to leave me hanging for her!” She yelled pointing at Brea.

A tear rolled down my cheek and I looked at her.

“…You don’t mean that LaMaya, I am the only one who’s been there for you.” I said.

“Whatever Zoey! Go be with your stupid boyfriend and your baby! At least you have something to live for! Have a nice life because I don’t want to talk to you again!” she yelled before stomping off.

I wiped the tears from my eyes and yelled out her name but she never turned around. I didn’t mean to hurt her like this.

“You see what you did now.” Sky said sighing.
