Chapter Three

Roman waved goodbye to the three boys in the car as he walked into his house. He was immediately bombarded with more questions than he was prepared for. "Who were you with?" "Did they treat you well?" "Are you dating them?" "Why haven't you told us about them before?" Roman chuckled lightly and help up a hand, signaling them to stop. His brother and father's all ceased their questions, but waited patiently for Roman to explain. Roman pulled out his phone and began texting the family group chat.

I was with three boys named Patton, Virgil, and Logan. We just hung out and talked. Well...I listened really well :P But they were super nice! And they said that they wanted to hang out with me again!!

All three family members read the text and smiled widely. Roman's Papa stepped forward and hugged him far too tightly. "I'm so proud of you Ro!" Remy laughed loudly. "Emile, you're going to crush the poor kid!" Emile chuckled but pulled away from his son. "Seriously though, I'm really proud of you too Ro," Remy added. Roman couldn't help the smile that made its way into his face. Emile tousled Roman's hair lightly before turning back to his husband. "Come on, love. Let's go make some dinner, yeah?" Remy nodded and followed Emile to the kitchen, leaving the twins alone. Roman couldn't read the expression on Remus' face. He looked...sad, for some reason. Roman tapped Remus' arm, causing him to look up quickly. Roman pulled out his phone once more and texted Remus privately.

What's wrong? You look sad.

Remus sighed and turned to his brother. "I'm really happy for you Ro, I promise. And I'm really proud of you for making friends, it's just..." he trailed off. Roman scrunched his eyebrows, showing that he didn't understand. "It's just... I don't want you to replace me, Ro. I know I'm just your brother and all, but you're seriously my best friend." Roman's eyes widened as he typed quickly.

Re, that'll never happen. You're my best friend too. And the only one who has stayed with me through everything. I could never replace you. I'm sorry for making you upset.

Remus shook his head. "Please don't apologize. You haven't done anything, I just got.. worried. Because I know I'm weird and it probably sucks to have your brother following you around all the time, but-" Roman put his hand up to cut him off.

Stop. You're completely wrong. It doesn't suck at all to hang out with you. And I love you for you. (You were right about the being weird part though :P)

Remus chuckled lightly. "Thanks, Ro." Roman smiled in response. "Wanna go watch Tangled?" Roman nodded quickly and ran up the stairs, tripping over his feet a couple of times. Remus laughed loudly at his dork of a brother before running up after him to start the movie.

About halfway through the movie, Roman's phone started vibrating. He opened it to find the notifications were coming from his group chat with his new friends.

P: I miss you guys!!!
L: Patton, we just dropped you off 5 minutes ago.
P: Stilllllll I miss you!

Roman smiled lightly before it fell. They must have texted the wrong group chat, he thought. Why would Patton possibly miss me. He meant that to be sent to his boyfriends. Roman wrote back to the chat.

R: Hey Pat, I think you messaged the wrong group.
P: What do ya mean?
L: you*
L: But yes, how do you mean Roman?
R: Well... I figured you just meant to text Logan and Virgil that you missed them.
P: No!!! I miss you too Roman!! Today was super duper fun and I miss you guys already!
V: yeah ro, we all had a lot of fun today. you're pretty cool.

Roman smiled widely. He hadn't had friends like this in a long time.

R: Thank you guys. I had a lot of fun today as well.
P: Do you want to hang out with us again soon??
R: I really don't want to impose.
L: You would not be imposing at all.
V: come on roooo
P: Pleaseeeee !!!
R: Okay then, sure. When is good?
P: Would you guys want to hang out tomorrow? We could go to a movie?
R: Ah, sitting and staying silent. My specialty.
P: Roman no!
V: i'm cackling oml
R: Relax Patton, I was kidding. But yeah, that sounds good.
V: i'm down
L: That sounds adequate.
P: Perfect! Meet in the parking lot after school!
L: I can provide transportation.
V: yeehaw let's do it
R: Thank you guys. I'll see you tomorrow.

Roman slid his phone back in his pocket, turning his attention back to the movie. However, he was now watching with a light smile on his lips.
