We were moving closer to the edge of the crater, the palace in view before long. I stopped with Bato, tanks and soldiers making their way past us over the edge.
"Surround the periphery!" Bato called out.
"Come on, people, we need to have the palace secured by the time the Eclipse is over!" I yelled over the noise. "Unless you want to be stuck in the fight of your life!"
Bato grinned over to me, and we started moving down into the capital. Firebenders jumped out at us, and I moved up with the Earthbenders.
"Stop!" Tyro called out. "Surrender peacefully, and we won't harm you."
"What he said," I grinned, cracking my knuckles. "We won't mess you up."
"We'll never surrender!" a soldier yelled out, stepping forward as he flailed his arms around wildly, ending with a small thrust that produced a fizzle.
We made eye contact, and it was at that moment that he knew... he messed up.
"Er... okay, we surrender," he said as he and his squadron bowed and presented their hands in surrender.
I saw Jin and Katara come over the ridge, Jin supporting Hakoda.
"Well, at least they're safe," I sighed. "Right, back to work!"
There was still a lot to do before this was over.
