Troian's POV

We strolled up in the car towards the entrance of the arena. I felt a feeling in my stomach and I started jumping around.

"It's so big!" I yelled.

There's so many people around. A lot of groups and solos, duos, it's amazing seeing all of these people coming to perform their talent for music.

We parked in a parking space and we got out of the car. I jumped around and squealed.

I can't believe I'm actually here. I'm about to show those bullies that they can't stop me and I'm coming back twice as hard.

I thought back to my life. When my mom married Ron, to when she slapped me, to when Ron raped me, to when Dad sent me that letter, to when I moved in, to when I first got bullied by Brooke and Chelsea, to when I got asked out by Cameron, to breaking my leg, to getting heartbroken by Cameron, to getting transferred to online school, to asking my parents to audition, to them saying yes, and now I'm here.

I went through a lot to get where I am. And I smile at the thought. I have an amazing mom, a dad, and a sister. I won't trade anything. I had my first shot at love and it didn't go well, I'm not saying I won't fall in love again, but anything can happen.

"You're so lucky!" Emerson yelled, smiling.

"I know, right?! It's like a dream come true," I said.

After I got my number, we went inside the arena. My jaw dropped. It's even bigger on the inside. So many people. I can't believe I'll be competing against these people in this competition. I looked around some more until a girl walked up to me.

"Hi, my name is Lucy," She smiled. "What's your name?"

"Troian," I said.

"Great name! Good luck!" She walked away.

I smiled and continued to walk. A couple of people looked at me. Some stared at me and I swear, I seen some laugh at me.

"Don't worry, Z," Emerson said. "Those people will be blown away by your voice."

I smiled and thanked her. I sat on the chair and waited. A lady walked up.

"The judges are ready for you," She said.

I nodded and waved to my family. I walked up the steps.

This is my only chance, to prove that I'm worthy enough to be here and this is where I belong. This is an one in a lifetime chance and I can't blow it.

A man tells me to walk onto stage and over to the X. He tells me good luck and that's when I walk off.
