I find Jay and the other VKs. Ben found them first. He sees me and tells Mal, "I'll see you later." He leaves and I give him a tight smile. Doug tries to talk to Evie, but Chad won't let him. I glare at Chad and he shrinks back. Audrey and Jane walk by Mal and Audrey whispers loud enough for Mal to hear, "How long does she think that's gonna last?" Jane smirks. I can't believe how much being around Audrey can mess up your personality. Jane used to be super sweet and innocent.
"Mal is just a bad girl infatuation," Audrey snickers.
"Yeah. I mean, he's never gonna make a villain a queen," Jane says, bending down close to Mal so she can hear.
They laugh along with a group of girls. Mal flips open her spell book, sighing heavily.
"Beware forswear, undo Jane's hair." She lazily does some finger movements and I hear Jane scream. The girls surround her, revealing her old, short crop hair. I grin, "Karma, huh, Jane?" Mal stands up, "And there's plenty more where that came from."
Audrey looks offended, "Excuse me, who do you think you are?"
"Does it look like I'm joking?" Mal questions. The girls stand there, hands on their hips, glaring at Mal. Mal nods as she flips through her spell book. All the girls run off, but Audrey walks away. I hear her mutter, "What a villain."
That pushes me over the edge. I stomp over to her and shove her face down. She falls and sits up, her mouth agape when she sees that I'm the one who pushed her.
"Don't ever call Mal or any of them a villain AGAIN!" With that, I spin on my heels and breeze by the VKs table, fuming mad. Chad helps Audrey up and I can faintly hear Jay calling my name over my racing heartbeat.
"Brielle!" Jay puts his hands on my shoulders and turns me around. I was so blinded by anger that I didn't hear him call me or following me. "You okay?" I shrug, "I guess. I went looking for you. I wanna show you something...now more than ever." He looks confused, "What is it?" I grab his hand, "C'mon, I'll show you. I don't bite." He chuckles, "After what you did to Audrey, I'm still debating that."
After a good bit of walking, I announced, "We're here." His mouth dropped open at the beautiful scenery.

"Wow. Does anyone else know about this?" I shake my head, "The Enchanted Lake is so popular that no one knows about this. It's just a waterfall to most people, but it's so peaceful and relaxing here...it's like a safe haven to me. When I'm stressed or angry, I come here to clear my mind." We walk around the lake, watching the waterfall.
"How do you feel about being crowned Queen tomorrow?" Jay's voice broke through the sound of water gushing down the rocks. I shrug, "Nervous. Excited. Terrified. I'm too young to be Queen and Ben's too young to be King. Even we think so. It's a huge responsibility. The Queen's work isn't as hard as the King's, but I'll be so busy. When will I have time to just be 16?" I sigh sadly.
Jay looks down, "I'm sorry. I didn't know how much pressure you were under."
I smile softly at him, "It's not your fault. To be fair...not many people do. I'll do my best to be a good Queen...but I can't promise I'll be a perfect one."
"I would say no one's perfect...but you're perfect to me," Jay tells me.
I beam and kiss him on the cheek, surprising him, "Thank you. That means the world to me."
