Trigger warning: mentions of rape.

(Tyler's POV)

I grew a huge smile on my face as I played with Josh's hair, wrapping his curls around my fingers.

Josh hummed in response to my touch, growing a small smile on his face as well.

Pretty soon, Josh was fast asleep, snoozing on my chest. I smiled down at him and eventually grew sleepy.

Ha. I guess seeing Josh sleeping is enough to make me relax.

I made myself a little more comfortable, trying not to wake Josh, and sighed. Before I knew it, I had fallen asleep.

TIME SKIPP

Finally, after what felt like forever, I was able to leave the hellhole that was known as the hospital. We left pretty late at night because I guess we needed to check out late.

Since Josh had ridden with me and the ambulance that first day, we couldn't drive home. Therefore, Josh was an angel and told me he'd walk me home. He knew I was scared of the dark and being alone so I was just glad he told me before I had the chance to have a breakdown about it.

We finally were able to check out, long after our scheduled time since the place was swamped, so it was even later than we expected. The streets were deserted, the houses quiet, not a sound other than the scuff of our shoes on the sidewalk.

"..you know, Tyler-" Josh started right as I opened my mouth.

"So Josh-" I immediately cut myself off, feeling bad for interrupting him.

"No, no, no, uh, go ahead." Josh nervously laughed, which started to make me a little anxious.

"No, it's okay. I interrupted you, I'm sorry." I looked up at Josh, the dim street lamps emitting a light glow on his face. Jeez, he's hiding his emotions pretty well. I've never seen Josh like this.... Øh yøu mørøn, yøu knøw he's gøing tø say he døesn't like yøu. Høw cøuld anybødy say they like yøu. Yøu're tøø pathetic.

"....Okay, so I've been thinking a lot about this last week. I don't know how exactly to put this, or if you even feel the same, which- oh god, I'd probably just breakdown right here on the side walk- but anyway, I was wondering if you'd wanna-"

We suddenly realized a car had parked next to us. I didn't hear it drive up because of both my inner thoughts and the fact that I was focused on Josh.. it seems he didn't realize it until now either.

It wouldn't have been weird any other time, but just because of how late it was and how there was no other car or person in sight, it scared me.

"Um.. Josh..?" I looked up to him and bit my lip. I immediately shot my head back at the car though. Josh was on the inside of the sidewalk. I was practically right next to the car so I didn't want to get it out of my sight.

"Just keep walking, okay? It'll be alright, Ty." Josh places his hand on my back and quickened our paces. The car started speeding up and following us. "Okay. Tyler? On the count of three, I want you to book it down the street as fast as possible, okay? I'll be right here." Josh grabbed my hand as we mentally prepared ourselves for the fact that we might be running from a kidnapper.
