"Would you call what I did stupid?"

"Which one? The running away from school ,or quitting on the two boys?"

"Both?"

As Rhylee had said, I had quit school for the day. As I went out of the school doors, I got a taxi and went to Rhylee's house. She was at home because she was crying over David. She finally saw that what I told her made sense and decided to break up with him.

I told her in detail what happened at the cafeteria in school, but I didn't need too because some students had already posted pictures and videos of the scene on Instagram.

"Well, truancy isn't really a good thing. But on the plus side, it was for a good cause."

I sighed.

"I can't believe you haven't noticed yet."

"Noticed what?" I asked.

She face-palmed herself. "Really, Sam? I don't spend as much time as you do with them, and yet I've noticed. In fact, everyone else knows."

"Knows what?"

"Figure it out yourself."

"Tell me, Rhyls!"

"Ugh, fine. They like you!"

"I'm confused."

She rolled her eyes. "This isn't Rocket Science, Sam."

"I still don't get it. Who's they. And how can they like me?"

"Hint: Ryantha and Samary."

"Isn't that a combination of Ryder and Zachary's names with mine?"

"Yes! It is!"

My eyes widened. "How's that even possible?"

"Let's start with Zack. At first, he noticed that Ryder and you were beginning to spend time with each other, so he tried convincing you to stay away from him so that you won't get 'hurt'. Then he spotted you walking on the road, picked you up, and took you to Burger King. He came to your house to help you with 'homework' but ended up seeing your 'pretty little face' instead. And now, he's fighting with Ryder over you!"

"That doesn't prove anything, Rhylee."

She folded her arms and raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really?"

"Oh my gosh! You're right!"

"Of course I am. Now, Ryder. Ryder let you get into his personal space. That's something he wouldn't allow anyone else to do. He also trusted you enough to tell you about his past,which you still wouldn't tell me about. He left his sister at home with you, and he wouldn't do that if he didn't trust you. He got pretty annoyed when he saw you at home with Zachary. When you lost consciousness, he took you to a hospital and made sure you were okay. He didn't sleep that night because he was worried about you. He said he cared about you and doesn't like it when you're hurt. And now, he's fighting with Zachary over you!"

"I can't believe it, Rhylee. It's true. Ryder and Zachary have a crush on me. How can someone possibly have a crush on me? There's nothing to love about me."

"Sam, are you kidding me? There's everything to love about you."

"You're just saying that because you're my best friend."

"No, I'm not. I'm saying it because it's true. Which reasonable person wouldn't like Samantha Collins? You're a rare gem. Don't ever forget that."

"What would I do without you, Rhylee?"

I gave her a long hug. In the middle of our hug, my phone began to ring. Ryder was calling.

"What do I do?" I asked Rhylee.

"Answer it!"

I picked the call.

"Sam! I've been trying to reach you for ages. How are you?"

"I'm okay."

"You don't sound okay."

I sighed.

"Where are you? I went over to your house and the front door was locked."

"I'm at Rhylee's."

"Oh. Glad to see you guys are friends again."

"Yeah."

"Sam, is everything alright?"

"Yes, Ryder."

He sighed." Should I come over?"

"No, you don't need to."

"Should I come to your house tomorrow, since it's the weekend. I can finally meet your mum."

"Ryder! Calm down, I'm not running away. We can see in school on Monday. I want to use this weekend to clear my head."

"Okay, if you say so. Stay safe. Bye, Sam."

He hung up.

"What did he say?"

"He asked about my well-being and wanted to come over to see me. When I said no, he asked if he could come to my house tomorrow. He used it as an excuse to meet my mum."

We both started laughing.

"So who are you going to pick?" She asked.

"Huh?"

"Who do you love more? Ryder or Zachary?"
