Chapter 5

I fell back against the couch as soon as I got home, since I didn't have a last period.

"Good, your home." I opened my eyes.

"Yep." I replied as sat down rubbing her hands.

Something she always did when she was nervous.

"You okay?" I asked.

"Yes." I gave her a look.

"Alright, no. I bumped into Olivia Godfrey today." I sat up.

"What did she want?" I asked.

"She offered me, a big amount of money for." She stopped as I grabbed her hand.

"Lynda, you can tell me." I said.

"She wants you and Roman to marry, so you two can procreate more Upirs and Cambions." I looked down.

"H-how much?" I asked.

"Five hundred thousand." I looked back up.

"But I told her, no. We can't sell you for any kind of money." Lynda said.

I stayed quiet staring down at my hands, as thoughts ran through my head.

the money could help a lot

but what about Peter?

how would a Upir and a Cambion hybrid even surprise in this world?

do I want to marry Roman?

"Ivy." Lynda cut me out of my thoughts as I looked up.

"It would help a lot though." I said shaking my head.

"I'm going to think about it... and talk to Peter." I said.

"I understand." I stood up.

"I'm going to go have a nap." I mumbled heading to mine and Peter's room.

"He's coming where?" Lynda's voice boomed as I jolted awake.

"I don't know. He asked me if he could." I heard Peter said as I got out of the room.

"No, no. Look, simple questions have two possible answers."

"I meant to say no. But I opened up my mouth and something else came out."

"Peter!"

"What the hell is going on here?" I asked.

"Peter invited a Godfrey to come here and watch him transform."

"Roman?" I asked as Peter nodded.

"Of course." I rolled my eyes sitting on the couch as someone knocked on the door.

"Hey."

"Hey. Come in." Peter said as Roman stepped in.

"Hey Ivy." I waved.

"Roman, this is Lynda, my mom. Lynda, this is Roman." They waved at each other.

"Are you Hindu or something?" Roman asked us.

"The photo's the grandfather, and the statue's Ganesh." Peter replied.

That's the God of new beginnings." I said.

"But I don't think Nicolae ever actually knew that, huh?"

"He used to call him Jumbo and ask if what he had between his legs was anything like what he had on his nose."

"He was a real class act... sit." Lynda told Roman as he did beside me.

"Milk?" Lynda asked Roman sitting down.

"Sure." He replied as she handed it to him.

"Honey?" Peter shook his head.

"Lactic acid." Peter muttered.

"Oh. right, right, right. it does funny things to the stomach." Lynda said.

"So, meeting a friend of Peter's...."

"Never happened before cause he smells." Peter threw a pillow at me.

"What are your plans after graduating?" Lynda asked.

"I guess my mom will bribe my way into somewhere decent." Roman replied.

I got up heading to my room to grab Peter's jean jacket, then made my way out.

"Does it hurt?" Roman asked as I sat on Peter's lap.

"You wouldn't notice if a bus hit you." Peter replied as I pressed a hand on his cheek.

"You know I love you right?" he nodded as he kissed my cheek.

A couple of hours past as we made our way outside, I stayed by Roman's side.

Peter came out naked and Roman gave me a look as I hit his shoulder.

"What's the G stand for?"

"Go suck an egg." Peter replied before spitting on his hands.

"Are we safe here?" Roman asked.

"Yeah. just watch." I said.

"Ah, darn." Roman snapped his fingers.

"What?" Lynda asked.

"I forgot to bring a Frisbee." I coughed to hide my laugh.

Peter stuck up the middle finger at him.

"Don't joke." Lynda said.

The cat purred as Peter groaned as I heard a bone broke.

I hid my face in Roman's chest as he held me tightly.

I blocked out the noises as Roman held me.

"Peter?" I heard Roman ask as I pulled away.

Peter was there in wolf form as I stood in Roman's arms.

Peter snarled as he made his way into the woods as I signed.

"You gotta be fucking kidding me." I rolled my eyes.
