'get over it.'

We can't help 
the way we think.
If our thoughts
abuse us,
degrade us,
we can't help it.

The longer it goes on,
the more we start
to wonder
if we can really
stop
our own, unwanted thoughts.

But our thoughts
are wilder
than our hearts
and more powerful,
influential
and important
as the first human.

Is it really
that bad
to accept the way your mind works?

When your own mind
causes you
so much pain,
sometimes you join in
on its fun.

After so long
you'll just accept it;
your mind 
isn't something
to be tamed.
