More couple headcanons

I've been spacing in and out lately, and I suppose I just need something easy and fun whilst the ibuprofen kicks in. (Yes, it's TOM.) I'll be fine in a few days.

So, guys, I'm a theater kid. I think in terms of theater. When a character is described as athletic, I think "Oh, then they'd be great at dance" rather than anything to do with sports. I hope the non-theater people reading will still understand most of what I'm saying.

Have more headcanons!

Romeo and Juliet:

- PDA?

- They invented PDA

- Theater kids, similar to Lysermia

- They're more likely to do a dance break tho

- Romeo has been taking dance for years

- Mostly jazz and modern, a bit of swing

- Juliet does swing and ballet

- Therefore, musicals. All the time. 24/7.

- Romeo adores the little random pirouettes Jules does when she's bored

- Like, they'll be standing in line, and Juliet will scoot out a few steps and twirl

- Just because she can

- You can bet they're wowing their fellow crowd members at any local concert

- Romeo's actually really insecure about a lot of things

- Juliet thought he was joking when he nervously asked if a little eight-count choreo piece he learned looked okay

- She assured him it looked fantastic

- Eventually he became more comfortable with how he danced (or did anything, really)

- And now he rarely questions his worth

- If he does, Jules makes sure he doesn't stay in that state long

- They do all the cute, cliché couple things without meaning to

- Like the one drink with two straws, surprise hugs from behind, Romeo leaving little notes for sleeping Juliet when he leaves for an early class

- They both support each other in every way

- It's really sweet

- They're just vanilla and adorable

- Shut Up and Dance With Me

Hermia and Helena:

- Let me just start by saying that Hermia is the one who convinced Helena to do tech

- It was Hermia

- Hermia did it

- All eyes look to Hermia

- Actually, she's probably the lead, so do that

- As you may have guessed: tech and actor

- Helena thought she would hate working lights, but Hermia got her to do it for one show

- That turned into two shows

- Then three

- And so on

- Now Helena is on first-name basis with every regular director in town

- Aside from theater...

- (There are topics that aren't theater?)

- "Hermia! Come down from the tree!"

- "Hermia! We do not need a dog!"

- "Hermia! Excessively loud music is bad for your ears!"

- On the other hand

- "Helena! Come dance with me!"

- "Helena! Put that book down for five minutes!"

- "Helena! Don't you dare set that alarm for seven AM!"

- They're chaotic

- But they appear to have achieved a flow that all of their friends find incredible, but bordering on supernatural

- Like, Helena will toss the apartment keys behind her back and Hermia will catch them without looking

- It's scary and fascinating

- They're polar opposites but they balance each other out quite nicely

- Rather Be / She's All That

Demetrius and Lysander:

- Similar dynamic to Hermia and Helena

- Lysander is a little ball of energy for Demetrius to reel back in

- Except when he's drunk

- Lysander gets sleepy when he's drunk

- Demi generally doesn't drink, and finds it adorable

- 75% of his muscle mass is from carrying Lysander around

- Lys is sooo romantic

- Roses, chocolates, fancy wine

- Valentines day is his favorite

- He mostly does these things because Demi gets really flustered

- Lys is super poetic and Demi is really awkward when it comes to large romantic gestures

- But this is the other way around in their everyday life

- Demi is smoother than most people give him credit for

- Think about Sky from Guys and Dolls, but Sarah is already with him and enjoys the flirting

- He's also become a master at noticing when Lys blushes, which is very impressive considering his skin tone

- Lysander (with the help of Hermia) got Demi to watch Singin' in the Rain, he said it was okay, and was later caught humming Good Morning by a smirking Lysander

- They now sing Moses on a regular basis

- It's Not Like I Like You

There you go.

Just so y'all know, I'm kinda on the fence about the gay AMSND. I'm pretty sure I'd be all over it if I'd had a similar experience with the story as I did with Hamlet (where I played Horatio) or Romeo and Juliet (where I played Mercutio), but this is different. I played Hermia, one of my closest friends played Lysander, and the Guildenstern to his Rosencrantz (also one of my closest friends) played Demetrius.

So, for the moment, I think I'll bounce between canon and rainbows with AMSND. I may do a rewrite where I make it as gay as humanly possible, just for the fun of it, but I'll still do Lysermia one shots because I'm rather attached to them.

There you have it, faeries. May you always be able to lean on your friends. Sometimes so heavily that they stumble and ask what the hell you're doing.
