After a long day at work, night has finally fallen. "(Y/N)." I look up to see Benjamin with a small smile on his face. "How was yesterday?" He asks.
I simple rolled my eyes saying sarcastically, "Oh it was great."
"That bad huh? What did she do this time?" Benjamin asked, sitting in one of the chairs in front of my desk.
"Yeah, she called me her greatest mistake and slapped me. Well those two things are switched but it doesn't matter because they still-"
"What!?" Benjamin exclaimed. "Are you ok?" He asked softly.
"Had a breakdown but... yeah." I said.
"That's good!" He said cheerfully.
I looked up at him with a confused look, stopping my progress on my work. "I mean your showing emotion more! Usually you would shrug something off like that and not think twice but now!"
"Oh please, I still fake emotions." I said, showing him a smile.
"Not around those countries you don't." I raised a brow at this.
"C'mon, don't think I haven't noticed. The first couple times I visited you to make sure you were alive... you were smiling... for real!" Benjamin exclaimed with excitement.
I rubbed the back of my neck in embarrassment, heat warming my cheeks. "What do you mean?"
His mouth was a gaped, "You're blushing... you're actually blushing!"
I looked at him in surprise, "W-What?"
"Yeah, I'm going to leave. Also tell the countries I said hi. And don't forget about your therapist appointment." Benjamin said standing up from the chair.
"I thought I didn't have to see her anymore?" I questioned.
"Your mother scheduled an appointment after your birthday." Benjamin informed.
"Of course she did." I grumbled, putting my head in my hands.
"See you later!" Benjamin said with a wave before leaving. I shook my head, "I swear..."
"Um... excuse me miss." I look up to see a girl with short black hair, smooth dark skin, and black eyes.
"Yes, how can I help you?" I asked, giving the nervous girl a smile trying to calm her.
"I- I'm here f-for the interview for the position of a-assistant for miss (L/N)." She stuttered our.
'Strange, I thought Benjamin was supposed to interview people for this position.' I thought, raising a brow.
"Um a guy I passed told me to come here." She added, gesturing where she came from giving me a nervous laugh.
I swiftly picked up my name tag on the desk and hiding it, hopefully the girl didn't see it before. She looked about my age, maybe a couple years younger.
"Of course, please sit then we will began." I said, gesturing to the seat Benjamin was sitting at before.
"Oh... um ok." She said with a smile, sitting into the chair.
I've done many interviews before but... each of those people knew who I was and acted confidently. She was different... and this will be the first time interviewing someone who doesn't know who I am. "Alright, what brought you to this job?" I asked, folding my hands neatly on the desk.
"Um well... I have always been interested in making my own video games so by working as an assistant I may pick up a few things from around the office and I would love to help miss (L/N) anyway I can." She said, her confidence seemed to grow.
I looked at her in surprise, "Don't you know the rumors that have spread about her? Do you really want to work with a person like that?" I thought back, remembering every accidental ease drop that I fell victim to. I never really cared about the rumors, but I wanted to see how this girls thinks.
Her face turned to anger, which surprised me, "Those are just rumors. I believe miss (L/N) was very successful despite her young age and I strive to be just like her. Hard working and doesn't let anyone take her down!"
I smiled softly, "Do you have any hopes in climbing the ladder miss...?"
"U-uh Abigail, Abigail Gowther. And yes, I wish to someday be one of the board members of this corporation." She stuttered out, her confidence faltering.
"That's a long ways to go." I commented, leaning back in my chair.
"Yeah I-I know." She mumbled. "Quiet impossible really."
"Not impossible, nothing is really impossible." I said. I grinned, placing my name tag on the desk for her to see. Her eyes widened, "Ohmygod miss (L/N) I'm so sorry if I offended you in-" I held up my hand stopping her.
"No, no on the contrary. Your hired." I told her.
Her eyes brightened up like stars, "Really!? Thank you so much!"
"Of course, training starts tomorrow morning. 9 o'clock am sharp, Benjamin will teach you everything then." I told her.
She stood up from her chair saying, "Yes, Of course! Thank you so much!"
"No thank you for coming and being truthful. Have a safe night." I said with a small wave.
She smiled and waved in return, walking out of my office. "What a nice girl." I mumbled, finished up my paperwork so I didn't have to take any home.
Once I was finished, I got up and walked out of the office. I made my way down to the lobby then walked out, saying bye to the desk lady as I went.
I walked out of the building, then over to my car. But I froze in my step as I see none other than Ryder leaning up against my car.
He looked over to me, giving me a crooked grin. "Hey babe. Been waiting for ya." He said in his charming tone that sent me his way a couple of years ago.
I glared at him, "Go away. I don't have time for this."
"Always so cold. C'mon I know how much you've missed me." He cooed, walking closer to me.
I took a step back and he stopped. "Why are you walking away from me? Are you scared?" He asked, a smirk appearing on his features.
All of a sudden he grabbed me by the arm and tugged me into an alleyway, slamming me agains the wall. But not hard enough to knock the air out of my. He had both of his hands on my shoulders, he took off his right hand and used it to trail down my cheek. I shivered at his touch. "How much I miss your red eyes." He mumbled, looking deep into my red eyes with his green ones.
He placed his lips on mine, my body protested, wanting to move but ... I was frozen in place. He trailed his lips down to my neck saying, "You're mine, and I'll show the world that."
That's when my body moved with my minds commands. I brought my knee to his stomach hard screaming, "Get off me!"
He stumbled back, I knew this was my chance to run, but I was frozen in pace again. My body not complying with my mind.
"You." Was all he growled, before slapping me... hard. I stumbled by the impact, almost knocking me down to the ground. It's was in the exact same spot my mom slapped me in.
He then grabbed my hair roughly, slamming it into the wall. I felt dizzy for a few seconds, but then my attention snapped back to him. His green eyes looking like bright green flames as he looked at me. "Stop being so difficult." Ryder said through clenched teeth.
I whimpered in reply, "Let go."
"What was that dear? I couldn't hear you?" He asked, moving closer to me.
"Let go!" I screamed out in fear and anger. Kicking him in the gut, and tried to wriggle our of his grip. But his grip only tightened in my hair. He growled like an animal, then threw me to the ground.
I felt him kick me in the gut saying, "Fine, guess it'll be the hard way! Like always!"
He then kicked me in the ribs, hearing a crack I feared for the worst. He might just kill me this time. I felt him kick in a couple more places by my gut and ribs before lifting me up by the throat saying, "Think about this next time you reject me."
Ryder threw me back to the ground adding, "See you later sweetheart." Then he was gone.
All I felt was pain... just pain... everywhere. I coughed into my hand, pulling it away to see blood.
I stood up, stumbling a little, then limped over to my car. I got in and drove away as fast as possible, I keep looking threw my rear view mirror, just in case he might've followed me with his car. But there was nothing. I only had one thought going through my head, 'I want to go home.'
I reached the mansion, parking my car crooked, not caring whether it was parked right or not.
I crawled out of the car, and walked through the front door. I didn't even notice the sleeping countries in the living room, the TV still on. I made it up to my room, subconsciously changing grabbing my pjs and going into the bathroom.
I took a quick shower, feeling nothing as warm water ran down my skin. Everything felt like a dream or a daze as I changed and walked back into my room, closing the door behind me.
I slipped under the covers, and fell into a dazed sleep, feeling no pain. Just peace, my breathing became slower, and my body relaxed. Knowing it was safe at home.
North's POV
I woke up after hearing a door shut. I blinked open my eyes, looking up towards the hallway where (Y/N)'s room was.
I stood up, careful not to wake the others.
She must've had a long day if she was going to bed already.
I climbed the stairs silently, walking to (Y/N)'s room. I opened the door slightly, peeking through to see her sleeping form.
I smiled, she looked so peaceful. I closed the door and headed to my own room. "Looks like I was worried for nothing."
