I walk out of the gym room, making sure not to drop any of the glasses. I make my way over to the kitchen, crossing the living room to see only France and Britain this time. They seemed to be having an interesting conversation... about the history of bread apparently.
I giggled at the two as I walked back, walking under the curved door way. I placed the glasses carefully onto the counter next to the sink.
I look at the dishwasher to see it was still running ... weird when did I start it? Oh well! Time to check on Russia.
I walk out of the kitchen bumping into someone as I left. "Ops sorry." I apologized looking up to none other than Russia's father, Soviet Union. 'When did he get here? Where did he even come from?' I question to myself.
He seemed to give me a suspicious stare, before walking past me without another word. 'What did I ever do to him? I'm so confused! Did I offend him some way or said something off?' I shook out of the thoughts then made my way upstairs.
"Hey (Y/N)." Germany greeted from the top of the steps with a small smile.
"Hey Germany! What's up?" I greeted back cheerfully.
"Not much, just going to check out the pool area. Wait... shouldn't you be at work?" Germany asked with a confused expression.
"Yeah something... came up. I got a free pass today. I'll explain everything later once everyone is out of their rooms." I explained with a shrug of my shoulders.
"Alright, you want to join me? I might take a dip." Germany suggested a small blush forming on his cheeks.
"Not at the moment. But I'll joint you later, I've got something to do real quick." I told him with a bright smile.
"Ok, see you later." He said waving, walking down the steps.
I made a left this time instead of the right. Down this hallway contained most of the others that weren't along my hallway. I made sure to take Germany's advice on keeping Russia and America separate.
Then I froze... wait. Germany wasn't wearing his normal attire. Was he? Nah maybe I'm just imagining things.
I continued down the hallways and came to a stop at the third door to my right. I knocked lightly... there was no answer.
I knocked again, "Russia, are you ok?" I waited for a response, pressing my ear to the door. I heard shuffling but... no answer. He's awake for sure, that shuffling sounded similar to footsteps. I looked down noticing the bag of clothes that I left for him haven't been touched. He hasn't he looked out of his room.
I sighed, "I'm coming in." I opened the door, stepping over the bag in the process. The room was dark, almost pitch black. It took a few moments for my eyes to adjust properly.
I look over at Russia's bed to see him sitting up in it, his head down. "What are you doing here?" He asked with almost no emotion.
"I came to check up on you, I got worried." I answered truthfully, shutting the door behind me and turning on the lamp beside his bed.
That's when I was able to see his face more, it looked as if he cried for hours. I gazed down to his arms, the bandages around his arms weren't white anymore, they were a cream color and some blood could be seen on them near his wrists.
I sighed, I wish I wasn't right about my suspicions but... sadly I was. "Russia is everywhere okay?" I asked, a warm tone in my voice.
"I'm fine. Now leave!" He practically demanded, glaring up at me.
A lie. I can smell it from a mile away, I looked down. Getting lost in my mind palace of sorts, thinking up a plan. I nodded to myself then left the room, heading towards the kitchen first.
Russia's POV
I watched as (Y/N) left the room, closing the door behind her. I let out a groan, burying my face in my hands. "Damn it." I mumbled lowly, my voice muffled in my hands.
"Damn it! Why am I like this!" I yelled, slamming my fist on the side table. "Why do I keep chasing people away. I could've ... I just want to talk to someone." I whimpered, my clenched fist relaxing.
I felt tears running down my face slowly, "Why did I yell at her?" I kept seeing the moment over and over.
Her eyes were clouded in a way, as if she was in deep thought. Her smile even disappeared in a frown. She must've been hurt by what I said, she was only asking because she was worried.
I hear the door open, I look over seeing (Y/N) with a plate of waffles in one hand along with a glass of milk and in the other hand fresh bandages that look... sort of different in a way.
Her smile was back on her face as she walked in, closing the door with her foot. She placed the plate down on the side table along with the glass. She sat down next to me placing the bandages beside her, then reached out her hand.
I looked confused for a moment, but hesitantly, I placed my own hand into her own. I jumped as she grab hold of it tightly, surprising me.
She began to unwrap the bandage around my arm. I was filled with alarm quickly saying, "Wait! Don't!" I grabbed hold of her hand that was unwrapping the bandage, stopping her. What will she think of me when she saw... those? She'll probably look at me in disgust or even worse... crazy.
She looked up at me confused, but then her blood red eyes glistened in understanding. "It's ok, I pretty much already know." She said, slipping her hand out of mine.
She finished unwrapping the bandage, revealing many cuts I made a couple weeks ago before I got here. They were almost healed but they break open pretty easily.
I looked up seeing her expression was calm and caring. She picked up the other bandages saying, "These were designed by brother and I. It's made out of similar material as rubber but doesn't absorb water and keeps it away from the wounds. So it technically can't 'get wet'." (Y/N) explained, she stopped wrapping my arm to use her finger as air quotes.
"It works sort of like reptile or oceanic mammals skin. You can literally jump into the pool and they won't deteriorate or get your wounds yet." She informed, continuing to wrap up my arm quiet expertly like she's done this a million times.
She finished up one arm, taking the end of the strand and tucking it under one of the other strands. I then hold out my other arm and she started on it.
"What made you start?" She asked, not looking up as she finished unwrapping the bandage.
I hesitated a bit before saying, "When my father... left. Everything sort of fell apart in chaos and violence. I kept think I somehow failed and sometimes whenever I try to fix things... I make it worse."
"Sounds like your stressed mostly, maybe a bit of anxiety." She seemed to mumble in a tone I've never heard from her before... monotone. "Why haven't you asked America or your dad for help? Or really any of the other countries for help?" (Y/N) asked in her sort of emotionless voice.
"I don't think anyone would be happy with me talking to the other countries like America and such. As for my father... I just wanted to show him that I can be an even better leader than him." I told her, looking down at the bed.
I felt a hand on my cheek, turning me to face her. "Don't ever think you have to do it alone. As for help, no one will think your weak or not a great leader because of it. Everyone has asked for some sort of help more than once... no mater how strong or powerful they are." She said with a small smile.
I smiled in returned, leaning into her hand, "Thank you." I mumbled. I notice a small blush on her cheeks, I then remembered what I was doing and shot my head up, away from her hand.
"S-sorry." She said quickly, retracting her hand back down to the half wrapped bandage to finish wrapping it up.
"No, no it's fine!" I said quickly myself, smiling reassuring towards her.
She seemed to give out a sigh, a small smile forming on her lips.
Once she finished, I looked at my arms in awe. She did it better than me... which at the moment I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. "Wow, your actually good at this. How did you learn?"
Her small smile faded into a frown, her eyes seemed to go in deep thought. Then she looked up at me with a calm expression in her red eyes, "I... I didn't ever show emotions when I was little. I became labeled as a sociopath by a physiologist, they told my parents that ... I will most likely never show any emotion except a few."
My eyes widened, she smiles so much I would've never thought that she was a sociopath. "So when you smile... is it fake?" I ask, trying my best to find a way to ask it without it sounding rude.
"Most of the time yes... I've learned to fake it for my brother who constantly tried to get me to smile in some way shape or form. He knew they were fake thought, he could see right threw me." She took a deep breath and released it. "Until one day, in high school he took me to a theme park that had roller coasters and all sorts of animals."
Your POV (also sorry if you are a high schooler like me or younger)
Three Years Ago
I walked around with my older brother, his rugged black her blowing through the wind. "I'm surprised you agreed to come." He said, his dark green eyes sparkling in my direction.
I simply glance at him, "I was bored."
Hunter scratched the back of his neck, "Yeah well all you do is go to school and hang around the house."
His eyes seemed to sparkle as he spotted the first roller coaster  in sight. "Let's go on that!" He said like a child, pointing at the roller coaster that was doing flips and sharp turns.
I shrug, "Sure." He dragged me over and entered through the entrance. The wait wasn't too long, it was at least ten minutes till we were able to get on the ride.
Hunter was practically jumping in his seat, while I had my handle on the bar, leaning my hand on it. When a woman came back to make sure the bar was secure she said, "Ma'am can you lean back please."
I did as told, leaning back against the seat. The ride started, the coaster climbing up. My brother gripped my arm as the coaster climbed high. "What are you doing?" I asked, with my usual monotone voice.
    "I'm scared!" He whined.
"Your an adult. Suck it up you big baby." I said coldly, pushing him gently off me. At the moment the coaster dropped, my eyes widened in surprise.
I felt my stomach began to feel... like something fluttering inside it. My heart was beating fast, and I began to laugh in joy.
After the ride was over my brother hugged me tightly, "What the!?"
"You laughed! Your laughed and smiled!" He cheered.
I froze, think back... was that was it called? What was that feeling called? "It's called excitement and joy." He answered, seeming to read my thoughts.
"Now c'mon there is more to see!!" He exclaimed, dragging me off. I adored that feeling, even the feeling of awe as I watched the animals move and grazed. They were interesting to me.
Present
"After that I started to find way to feel that emotion. I got hurt a lot falling down from either roller skating or bike riding as fast as I could." I said, looking up at Russia.
"I even began to love snorkeling or cage diving to see the sharks and creatures. But I got hurt most of the time that I couldn't get in the water because of the bandages. So me and my brother came up with this idea." I explained, holding up the remaining bandages.
"Before you ask, yeah I still fake out emotions... mostly positive ones... but since you guys came here. I felt joy." I said with a soft smile.
Russia smiled in return, giving me a hug. "You helped me too. I stopped doing this to myself after I got here." He said. Then pulled away.
I nodded, "That's great. Now eat your breakfast. I have something important to tell everyone." I got up and went to walk out of the door.
"You won't tell anyone ... right?" He asked.
I turned to look at him, "As long as you don't tell anyone what I told you."
   He smile, "Of course."
I walk out, with a bright smile. Oh how far I've come, all thanks to you Hunter.
