Although her trials continue, news flies abroad.
She's been released. A prison gate stands open.
Silence follows her steps down the dusty street.
She walks the Earth a free-floating, free woman.
No longer recognizable, her mien and gait have
changed. Carrying such sorrow, for so so long
has left her stooped, fragile is her frame. Starvation
wrote its story on her bones, her eyes grown dim.
Even so, when she smiles, her eyes light a path,
survival empowering her to vanquish all dread.
