I awoke that morning to pounding on my bedroom door. I groaned as I grabbed a pillow and pulled it over my head, trying my best to ignore it.
"Bella! Wake up!" shouted my brother, Beau, as the pounding grew louder.
"Go away and let me sleep!" I shouted angrily as I tried to bury myself deeper into my bed.
"No way! We'll be late for our first day of school! Let's go!" Beau's knocking grew louder, and I was sure if I didn't wake up soon my brother would knock my door off it's hinges.
I groaned as I tossed my blanket off of myself and rolled out of my bed, "Okay okay! I'm up," I groaned as I rolled my eyes.
"Great! Hurry up, Tori's making breakfast," and with that, I heard his footsteps disappear away from my room and down the stairs.
I rolled my eyes once again before wondering into my bathroom to prepare for the day. I stripped from my clothes and hopped into the shower.
Before I continue, I suppose I should tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Isabella Marie Swan. I'm 18 years old and I'm a wolf shifter. For a while, it was just me, my brother, Beau, and our best friend, Angel. Our parents died when we were young, I was 12 and Beau was 10. Angel was 14. Our village had been attacked by vampires and we were forced to flee.
We found the rest of our pack in various places all over the country. We found Kat and Tori in Massachusetts when I was 15. Then Nic and Jason somewhere in Colorado. I guess I should tell you a little bit about each member of my pack.
We'll start with Angel. Angel Rodriguez had been my best friend for as long as I could remember. We grew up together. He lived right next door to me, and we were always getting into trouble together. He was a wolf shifter as well. He was two years older than me, but honestly he was as immature as Beau, who was the youngest in the pack. He did have his moments, however. He was a great second, and he was someone I knew I could always rely on.
Then there's Beau, who's a wolf shifter as well. He was my baby brother. He was the comedic relief of the pack. He always had some smart ass remark or joke to tell, even in dire situations. Despite being the baby of the pack, he was fiercely protective of everyone. Including his imprint, Tori. He had his moments like Angel, where he was deadly and serious. Especially when it came to Tori. He didn't take well to anyone insulting or bothering his imprint. There was one time at one of the high schools we attended where he had actually punched a kid in the nose because he was making crude remarks towards Tori. Let's just, we had to move or else we'd all be in deep shit seeing as the kid was the mayor's son.
Then there's Katherine Hansen, though you better call her Kat or else you'd feel her wrath. She's a 17 year old, cheetah shifter. And her bite is almost as bad as her words. She could tear a grown man down with just a few words, and as she happily liked to remind everyone she knew all forms of torture. I'm not sure if that's really true, but I'd never really want to find out. She was a feisty little thing with a bad attitude. But she was also fiercely loyal and majorly protective of those she cared about, especially her imprint, Jason, and her best friend/sister, Tori. She was also a great person to go to if you needed advice.
Her imprint, Jason Montgomery was the total opposite of her. He was a vampire and around 60 or so years old, though physically he doesn't look any older than 18 or 19. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. How could a pack full of shifters accept a vampire into their home? Well, let's just say it wasn't easy. At first, we were all wary of Jason and his brother, Nic, but after a while it was hard not to like the guys. It helped that Kat imprinted on Jason, and Angel imprinted on Nic. If it weren't for the imprints, we probably wouldn't have accepted them. Jason was the strong, silent type. He rarely spoke, and if he did it was usually only to Kat or one of us. He struggled a bit with his blood control, so he usually always stuck close to Kat, especially in public. He was a nice guy, who never really had anything bad to say about anyone. But he wasn't a pushover. He was just as, if not more protective as the rest of us. And he wasn't afraid to take someone down if he felt as if the pack was being threatened. He also had a gift. He's able to control the element of fire, which came in handy whenever the pack ran into trouble with other vampires. Sometimes, he lost control whenever he felt an extreme emotion, but otherwise he was fairly good at keeping his gift under control.
