32. Interest

Galaxy Pollux doesn't lock me up, after all.

Even after getting a scare like that, I can still sleep well into the morning.

When I wake up, however, I briefly wonder if I was shipped off to somewhere unknown in my sleep before dismissing such thought.

I wake up inside my room, no problem.

As I sit on the bed after waking up, I wonder what I should do today. No classes and need rest. Before going to clean up, I grab my smartphone from my bedside and unlock the screen, checking notification.

Surprisingly, yesterday was a quiet night.

Just as I am about to lock the screen again, I receive a request for a video call. Accepting the call from Space, I get to see the person in the Hospital while I am still sitting on my bed in Universe Boarding House. When I think about it, isn't this the 1st time someone sees the interior of my room?

I turn my head and check to make sure the background is acceptable before focusing on the caller.

[Mercury~ How are you today~?] Space sounds cheerful as he greets me

"So so," I reply with a blink, squinting my eyes on the glare of sunlight from Space's side. He has the camera facing the sun, for some reason, "Is it your plan to make me blind?"

[Not at all!] Space hurriedly denies, [A mistake on my part,] changing the angle to shoot his hospital room, Space shows me a mountain of presents put on the corner, on the floor, [See these things?] flowers, fruits, chocolates, [Do you want any, Mercury?]

Those are the things people give when visiting a patient. Those are the presents people give to Space, "It's yours. I don't want them,"

[But I don't want them too!] Space grumbles, [I don't need these things,]

"Give it away then," I don't really know what Space expects from me

[They visited me to apologise,] Space starts storytelling, [It was their negligence which gave Jupiter the chance to attack me. Even though I warned them not to slack off!]

Huffing, Space grunts, [If they don't believe me, then don't ask me to help them crack the case; don't you agree, Mercury?]

Does my opinion matter? "I don't know you are working with the Police,"

[En,] Space turns the camera's angle to the front, so we get to talk face to face, [It's their condition for sparing me from jail,] rolling his eyes, Space complaints, [They just want to use my skills! Repeatedly telling me how generous they are for letting me go while they captured my 'gang'... Huh!]

[Now that this happened, they won't be able to use that excuse on me anymore!] Space has a sudden epiphany and is quite happy about it

I nod along to what he said. After he finishes, I ask, "Are you alone?"

In the brief moment when Space shot his hospital room, I didn't see the body of another person.

[Nel is out to buy us breakfast,] Space explains the whereabouts of his Younger Half-Brother, Nebula Spica

Space's camera is moving, showing scenes which don't make sense to me, before I realise Space has moved to lay on the bed, whereas he was sitting earlier.

[How are others?] Space asks with a smile as he lies sideways, [Do they miss me?]

I hold back a snort, telling this young man, "I will ask later, once I meet them,"
