Chapter 14: The Novous Around Her

What am I thinking?!

"Hurry. We're gonna be late." He said and opened the car's door.

Natahimik nanaman kami. Because of the silence I am able to reflect about the mission.

Powerful members of Novous will be there. So I would expect that this won't be that easy. Hindi naman sila ganun katanga para hindi maalarma once the smoke will activate, I'm sure most of them will be avle to get out of it or fight from it. Doon siguro kami magkakaproblema ni Freniere, kailangan naming lumaban.

And I hate the fact that I will fight in a battle wearing a gown and power heels. Sana naman kinomportable ko ang sarili ko.

"Here." May inilapag s'ya sa gitna naming dalawa. When I saw it, it's pistol a knife and a shuriken. Binigyan 'din n'ya ako ng lalagyan para maisabit ko lang ang mga iyon sa hita ko.

Pagpasok namin sa lobby agad binati si Freniere ng mga taong andun. Freniere introduced me as his date. Di naman nakatakas sa paningin ko ang paghead to toe ng iba sa akin, bigla akong nainis kaya nang maglanding ang mga mata nila sa mata ko ay umirap ako.

Probably they are thinking na I'm one of Freniere's girls. Well, sorry to burst their bubble but I'm no one's girl.

Sumakay na kami sa elevator. Tahimik pa rin kami ni Freniere. No one dared to talk. Malapit ko ng isipin na kagaya ko, kinakabahan 'din si Freniere sa misyong ito.

Well, I hope he's not.

Nang makalabas na kami ng elevator he suddenly offered his arm before kami pumasok sa isang silid. Nga naman, as his date I should cling to him.

Pumasok kami sa venue ng party. Like any typical formal party I can see many of the people dressed in gowns and tux. I saw waiters and waitresses who were busy serving the people. The bright lights. The big chandelier in the middle...

Oh, how I hate attending this kind of party eversince I became a Parker.

Bigla namang bumulong sa akin si Freniere. "Always remember the symbol, and always remember the faces."

Tumango naman ako.

Bahagya akong kinabahan nang marealize kung gaano s'ya kalapit sa akin nung bumulong s'ya. He just leaned towards my ears but his effect on me was more than that.

Bigla kaming napahinto nang may humarang sa paglalakad namin. A guy in a black tux, he is about my height but he is obviously older because of his white hair and mustache.
