"Do you remember the first time you tried to teach me how to cook?" I glanced over at Madi who sat beside me with a small smile.

"You mean the time I told you to watch out for the pot of boiling water beside you and you still decided to knock it over and burn all of your arm?" I raised my eyebrow at her as she huffed in response. "Yes, I do."

"It was an accident, come on." She tried to reason as I threw a few berries into my mouth.

"I'm not the one that ended up with a scorched arm." I chuckled. I stopped laughing though when I noticed Madi frowning. "What's wrong?"

I leaned forward in the wooden seat I was sat in to get a better look at her. She breathed a deep sigh and briefly glanced up at me, obviously wanting to explain but not being able to find the right words.

"It's just- sometimes I really miss it. When it was just the four of us. But I'm happy that you and Clarke have your family back and I know we're doing this for them." She explained and I felt my chest tighten at the disheartened look on her face.

"Me too."

I looked to my right and saw Marcus sitting up from his cot-bed and I frowned upon hearing they both felt like this. I held my hand out to Marcus as I stood up from my chair. He came over and took my hand and I knelt down in front of Madi and Marcus, looking between both of them.

"I miss it, too. So does Clarke. But both of you are our family and our first priority. We love them, but we love you more." I placed a hand on each of their cheeks and I felt my throat tightening, causing me to swallow harshly.

"We love you too, Sawyer." Madi told me, Marcus nodding in agreement. I pulled them both into my chest, hugging them tightly.

"I promise, everything will be normal again soon," I spoke into Marcus' shoulder, but I didn't even know if I believed my own words.

"Sawyer," I pulled back from Marcus and Madi and turned my head to the entrance of our tent where Bellamy now stood. He was about to say something but as he saw Marcus stood beside me - and not sleeping like he thought he was - his expression grew concerned.

"Hey buddy, what's up?" Bellamy moved towards us until he was crouched down beside me with a hand on Marcus' shoulder. Madi took a step back and sat down on the chair behind her watching closely. Marcus looked down for a moment before looking back at his dad.

"I just sometimes miss when everything wasn't so complicated- But I don't mean that I don't want you here, dad." Marcus panicked with wide eyes, and I could tell by his face that he was panicking whether he had overstepped the mark by calling him dad. Judging by Bellamy's expression, he could tell too. Bellamy however only smiled and I couldn't help the small grin on my lips too.
