A Lover's Prayer

My Lord,

Since misery loves company
Joy should hate isolation
Pain and pleasure could be the best of friends
Opposites attract
But then again, while happiness and sorrow wouldn't stand each other
Hurt, harm, bliss and ecstasy could help each other
Though gloom and harmony won't ever meet
And torture knows passion though they never speak
Grief and agony glare at glee and delight
As amusement and laughter create distress and spite
Few criticize, so many praise
Some cheer, as the rest cry
Most smile, while little frown
All are up and happy, yet sad and down
Showing that hurt and happiness go hand and hand
Proving how pain and love cancel out one another
Acting like happiness needs pain to survive
Believing love causes hurt just to get by
Angry and excited
Bored and calm
We treat heaven as hell and angels as demons
Act snobbish towards flowers
Responsive towards yelling
First love to hate then next hate to love
Enjoy pain and provoke hurt
Mistake happiness for sadness
Then trade that mistaken sadness for happiness
So in all actuality
We eventually end up unhappy
Singing wishes of happiness
Just another sad love song
Hoping lyrics will coat the pain
Using lullabies to cope with hurt
Love pain
Hurt happiness
Develop an adventurous journey
Walk the path
And then finally fulfill GOD's divine plan
This is the hurt and pain of love and happiness

-Amen
