《Dinah and Normani》

Listen while you read: "The Keeper" by Bill Laurance

I emerged from the castle in search for my love. She couldn't have gone too far. It was her idea for us to get ready for this grand dinner party that Ally had planned just for us in separate rooms. Once I finished getting myself ready, I went to her room so I could spend some more alone time with her, only for Ally to tell me that she went out to explore.

All I could do was giggle. It was just like Mani to wander off in a new place she's never been. So off I went into the forest. I was in no rush, knowing that it was impossible for her to be in any sort of danger here. Every inch of nature captured my attention as I walked, but it was the sight I beheld next that enchanted me most.

I looked up and saw her...sitting peacefully in the middle of a garden as she looked at all the flowers surrounding her. She looked like a dream, her jet black hair brought back to a low ponytail, her ears adorned with glimmering jewels, her makeup fresh and natural. Her shoulders were left bare from the pure white top she wore, bringing out the gorgeous melanin of her skin. And those eyes...those eyes of hers gleamed brighter and brighter the more she looked at every flower there was to see.

She never saw me watching her from afar, and that only made this moment so much more perfect

She never saw me watching her from afar, and that only made this moment so much more perfect. As much as I cared for her, I never took the time to just sit back and truly admire how beautiful she truly was. How her simple existence was the light I've been unknowingly yearning for my entire life. She was the one I've been waiting for...the one I've been searching for...and looking at her now, I understood why this realm orchestrated our paths to cross.
