Retreat
"Argh!" roared Commander Grü, hefting his shield into the air.
Arrows flew from his ranks and crashed in waves onto the enemy. Men toppled like ants below the wall but kept coming. What a multitude! Never before had Grü seen so many men in one place. It was harrowing and chilling.
A crack sounded where the enemy battered against their walls, then a bang and chunks of the wall collapsed in a rumble. The enemy bled through the gap, hacking soldiers apart in their haste to get to him, the commander. Shit.
"Retreat!" he called, though it grated his bones.
