XIV. In Between The Strings

Chaeyoung and Jin Young walked into the hall where they were greeted by the staffs. And Jin Young was right, she could see several eyes on them as they made their way through the crowd.

"See? I told you." Jin Young whispered. A smirk made its' way to his face knowing his prediction was right.

Chaeyoung looked up to him giggling. Her brother is surely used to this.

"Orabeoni, let's look for Assistant Manager Hwang and Yuju!" She told him.

"You're going to call me Orabeoni for the rest of the night, aren't you?"

Chaeyoung snickered, "I'm just trying to stay in character."

Jin Young let out a light laugh, "Okay then, uri dongsaengi."

Chaeyoung's eyes scanned the crowd to find either Min Hyun or Yuju. Until, her gaze landed to the figure who stood near round table number 2. He was talking to and old man who happens to be President Hwang, the CEO of HG Corp. And beside him, was a lovely lady in an elegant hanbok and Jjeokjin-meori hairstyle, whose hand clutched on his arm through the entire conversation.

She tried her best to smile at the scene she witnessed. Watching Jungkook and Yee Eun happily together, and even dressed as married couple, should have brought joy to her heart because she was doing the right thing. She shouldn't be regretting her decision to let go of Jungkook. But, why is it so hard for her to put on a genuine smile right now?

Her eyes still glued on the scene, long enough until that figure from across the room felt her presence.

As the conversation between President Hwang and him was over, he bowed and was about to leave when he saw a pair of eyes staring at him from distance.

Jungkook caught her. Those mesmerizing brown eyes of hers were looking at him. For a moment, he thought he could have drowned himself in those beautiful orbs. But then, the man beside her--who he remember as Jin Young, fellow staff from HG Corp SMD-- dragged her away with him.

Yee Eun caught him staring at something, and decided to ask, "What is it?". She brought her gaze to where he was staring, and just found some other guests near the buffet.

"Uh, nothing." Jungkook replied.

Yee Eun nodded, "Let's go back to our seat shall we, I think the launching will start soon."

"Yes, we better get back."

"Assistant Manager Hwang." Both Chaeyoung and Jin Young bowed to greet Min Hyun.

"Hi, you two look great!" Min Hyun commented. "And, you look beautiful in that hanbok, Chaeyoung."

Chaeyoung smiled at the compliment, "Thank you so much, Assistant Manager."

"Where is your date, Assistant Manager?" Jin Young nonchalantly asked, seeing no woman was at sight near him.

Min Hyun chuckled, it was kind of funny that Jin young asked because he did asked Chaeyoung to be his date, but sadly, she had to turn down the offer because she said Jin Young asked her after his crush, Jungyeon turned him down.

"Well... Funny that you asked because, I was hoping to go with..." Min Hyun paused, as he observed that Chaeyoung didn't seem to show up as Jin Young's wife, because she didn't tied her hair back into a bun or jjeokjin-meori style. Instead, she braided it in a graceful daenggi-meori style. "With your, ummm, sister? At the first place, but, she turned me down and decided to come with you." He continued.
